Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Wasn’t the only spare land around the swamp bought by neville who built a hotel?

No.

He just owns the hotel and the the land it's built on.

United have enough land around OT to build a new stadium. The land is leased out to various companies. United get annual revenue from that.

The Glazers don't have the vision or the appetite to fund and to build an arena.(too late now) They would rather bleed United dry from the safety of America.

The Co-op Live holds 23,500 people, open it up three nights a week sold out and that’s probably 10,000 people more than what City will be getting on match day when the North Stand is extended. Why didn’t the poor raggies or dippers think of this idea?

United above.

Liverpool don't have land around Anfield for an arena.

The expand Anfield Road stand has away seats in the top tier facing Liverpool fans in the main stand and not the pitch. Lol!

They don't own the land they own a lease on the land. So they have zero room to build a new stadium there without knocking down old toilet first

There are other bits in Trafford park the Rags own not sure what the precise locations are. What they could put it for purpose for remains to be seen. The AO Arena since it’s construction in the 90s has been a relative success in what it did for the area around Victoria Station and the local economy, Silverlake and CFG have taken that concept and plonked it right next to our ground. It’s a master stroke, the likes of Take That, Simply Red playing there will sell it out. Even better there will be rags and dippers paying their hard earned money to attend.
They rags don't own the land around old trafford they own a lease on the land which gives them zero say in how or when its developed. Only the land owner has that right

Don’t think the GMCA would allow another arena to be built, the Co-Op Live had push back because of the existing arena in the city centre. The Co-Op Live will offer more seats and better facilities. I always found the sound and acoustics at the AO Arena were terrible, that will be addressed in this new building. If you were a band or act where would you rather go to play a gig in Manchester? Will be interesting to see if the AO turns into a white elephant.

The Apollo, shirley?

;-)

Serious question; is that even still being used as a venue? Saw Queen play there in 1979.

It's going to be absolutely carnage.
Stopping cars parking anywhere near the ground, only one tram link. Trains that are hit and miss. Unless they seriously upgrade the transport infrastructure, it's going to be madness. All they've come out with is let's all walk from Piccadilly, err nope.
There ain’t even significant parking available at Piccadilly
