Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Exactly this. More people will feel compelled to stay until the end and get behind the team.

You obviously don't leave until the end, the amount of near misses between drivers and pedestrians going back down Grey Mare Lane is a standing joke.

Both are to blame.

On the bus back to Piccadilly, the people are walking with the traffic, in the middle of the road.I think one or two need to be clipped by a bus to wake them up.
Walking on packed roads is never recommended.
I just don't understand the desperation of people to get away from the stadium.
It is nothing new, the Kippax street car park would be full 10 minutes before the end. You could see them from the top of the steps even going back 40 years. I liken it to people trying to get off an aircraft. They are desperate to pull and push, to get off quick, for what 2 minutes difference. Just a sad bit of human nature.

Bring Metrolink right into the ground why don't we? That'll help! Not that's never been tried before.... (waiting for Gary James to point out the railway siding that ran in front of a stand at the corner of the old Hyde Road back in the day) ha ha!

I think you are recommending an underground station, beneath the ground, with elevators, taking fans to the right level, then young ladies escorting us men to the seat and taking interval refreshment orders. -)

I wonder how many "oh no its 85 minutes I need leave because a) I need to get out of carpark first b) I need to be first on the tram c) I am a w*nker" fans lied on this question?

Very Much this. Our owners should be pressing MCC to build a tram line that turns on to Ashton New Road passed the south stand then to the south east of Manchester. This would double capacity on match days. How many tram lines go past the swamp?

There is a reason gorton, openshaw and denton haven't had a line yet, and that is because of the built up nature of the area area, the fallowfield loop was the original testing ground and in hindsight should have been kept as a line running from chorlton to debdale, you could probably have then linked it to ashton moss station and have a tram running.
