Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

That sounds awful and it would mean the first and third tiers being completely separated and thousands of fans forced out of the second tier.
Have a look at the Rogers Centre Toronto for your worst nightmare. But no options offered in the "consultation" looked at anything other than a South Stand replica or an extended top tier. The I remember seeing a rendering back about 15 years ago which had a hotel on the squash centre, and now Rugby League, site connected with a enclosed bridge directly into level two on the North West corner of the ground. We've all got our wish list but I doubt many of us have a clue about what we'll end up with. I just hope it doesn't end up like Chelsea Village

Can you find that ? I thought there was a suggestion of a hotel on the old Casino site but never where you suggest

I think a hotel will come but in another part of the site. With a regularly packed stadium and new arena. There is definitely potential for a hotel to service those travelling in.

Has city both the Mercedes’ site or is it still for sale?

I think at most city may built more luxury hospitality into the stand with a few large restaurants. Maybe apply to the messes with a ticket and meal for 199 say. Turning a match day into a 4-5 hr experience rather than 2-3

I would agree. They wont look to incorporate the hotel into the stadium, it limits the number of rooms and even if you could have balcony rooms with views of the football, you'd make far much more from having proper seating.

The north stand expansion will follow the south stand I'm sure. It comes down to costs and feasibility at the end of the day and even if it would be lovely to have a larger tier for more vocal support, that would likely mean moving the family stand because you wouldn't want families sat below vocal supporters chanting rude things! The knock-on impacts would be too substantial. You'd have to move all of the families elsewhere, move others to accommodate them and we know the away fans aren't moving despite the many calls for them to go elsewhere.

It will be just like the south stand, they'll keep one tier as a family stand and the rest will be for new or existing fans to move into.

It’s probably mentioned somewhere on this thread but what’s happening to the Asda site. It looks as if the store has closed?
