Are you sure? I'm up in Scotland but online at least it's still open. It’s probably mentioned somewhere on this thread but what’s happening to the Asda site. It looks as if the store has closed?

There were discussions about 12 months ago with a firm which specalises in sports bars/micro brewery type developments but it has been quiet since then so it's not clear what is happening long-term.What are the plans for the old Merc dealership. Pleanty room for a hotel and parking there.
I've just been shopping in there and it is well and truly open. It’s probably mentioned somewhere on this thread but what’s happening to the Asda site. It looks as if the store has closed?
It would be ideal for a bar complex or hotel. There were discussions about 12 months ago with a firm which specalises in sports bars/micro brewery type developments but it has been quiet since then so it's not clear what is happening long-term.
Panic buying to stock up for the closing of a few hours on Monday :)I've just been shopping in there and it is well and truly open.
In fact it was quite busy for a Friday dinner time.
Funnily enough,I did notice Lance Corporal Jones running around shoutingPanic buying to stock up for the closing of a few hours on Monday :)
I would agree. They wont look to incorporate the hotel into the stadium, it limits the number of rooms and even if you could have balcony rooms with views of the football, you'd make far much more from having proper seating.
The north stand expansion will follow the south stand I'm sure. It comes down to costs and feasibility at the end of the day and even if it would be lovely to have a larger tier for more vocal support, that would likely mean moving the family stand because you wouldn't want families sat below vocal supporters chanting rude things! The knock-on impacts would be too substantial. You'd have to move all of the families elsewhere, move others to accommodate them and we know the away fans aren't moving despite the many calls for them to go elsewhere.
It will be just like the south stand, they'll keep one tier as a family stand and the rest will be for new or existing fans to move into.
All that was in a Daily Mail article the day before tbfThis has been posted by a guy on Facebook who seems to have pretty good knowledge of the Club.
The family stand is finally in the works of being extended similar to what the south stand 3rd tier is like.....it will be the second highest attendance premier league club with it being extended to around 62/63 thousand....also a hotel is back in discussion plans of building it on the land of the stadium!
The future is definitely bright for us blues!
Would make a great railway station for the circular loop line linking Piccadilly, Victoria and Oxford Road if ever the Ardwick Curve viaduct was restored. Now possible given the Ordsall Chord. Would solve so many of transport issues to the stadium and new arena is that loop was reinstated. Some new points, under 1km of line needed, and the existing viaduct refurbed that's all. There were discussions about 12 months ago with a firm which specalises in sports bars/micro brewery type developments but it has been quiet since then so it's not clear what is happening long-term.
