I have nothing professional to add but, if the club want 60+k then just build the new NS tier another x amount of rows higher than the SS.

As L3 gets higher the sweep creates more seats per row .

It has been revealed that Hotel Football, the hospitality group owned by former Manchester United stars Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, has lost £3.2 million over the last two years and owes more than £10 million in loans.

Annual accounts for the business, which were filed last week(September), show that the hotel has suffered financially due to the impact of the Covid pandemic and the subsequent national lockdowns.

The documents also revealed that the firm’s parent company, Orchid Leisure Ltd, had loaned the hotel business £10.2 million to ensure its survival.

Neville said that financial figures for 2022 have been “very encouraging”.

He added: “Based on the above the directors are confident that the company will have sufficient funds to meet its liabilities as they fall due for at least the next 12 months.’’


I’d like to see a mixed use Hotel/apartment tower, including a viewing lounge/bar built close to the stadium, preferably on the Collar Site.

The Hotel would be busy. The apartments would sell. (football, music & events, Asda ;-), tram stop into the city centre, etc) I’d certainly use the lounge/bar if it was similar to Cloud 23(Beetham tower) and 20 stories.(No1 Spinningfield), just for the views.

I think that's just due to the timing more than anything. Covid will have killed the revenues. Even with the arena though you're looking at 2-3 events a week and it's not a 24/7 destination. Any hotel should provide a state-of-the-art conference/convention centre so it attracts big businesses to come and use the facilities. They can stay in the hotel and they can go corporate to the football games. Arsenal and Spurs will have loads of boxes sold on company credit cards for entertaining. There's more going on near the swamp with Salford Quays there and the cricket ground - with a very good hotel that probably sells out first. And there's a lot of tourists at the swamp which we know. To attract more revenue at the football you need to try and attract more businesses with the big company money out to that part of Manchester and that's one way that could do it.

Bar possible issues with the roof, which can be overcome, see below, is there any reason why City and their architects can’t retain level 1, keep it open, and build from the back of Level 1 after removing(demolishing level 2), and create a single tier similar to the one at Spurs?

I appreciate people are saying a single tier isn’t happening, but it could be done, couldn’t it?

Note: What looks like level one across the bottom levels, just infront of the entrnces/exits, seamlessly expands into the upper levels.

The side stand, level - 3, ends like the ES and CBS - level 3, but at a different angle.

Regardless of what City decide to do, the roof will have to be removed, realigned, and put back, just like it was when the SS was expanded.

Steelwork contractor Severfield supplied, fabricated, and installed 4,000t of structural steelwork for the job.

We also dismantled the existing roof, carried out all temporary works and designed connections,” explains Severfield Project Manager Paul Hulme.

We need a hotel regulator, to save hotels and be run by the government!!

Should the club not build the hotel here where the proposed super casino was to go, this building could house lots of different facilities including a hotels, club shop,club offices, bar resurant and other lesure facilities that would attract footfall during the day.

The reason for suggestion this is the hotel would five minute walk from the arena

Here is Spurs the shop just now , you fit something like that into the lower level of the super casino building above

Here is the Hydro in Glasgow its surrounded by hotels,Radisson Red with Sky Bar,The Village Hotel Spa & Gym, Hilton Garden,Premier Inn and the Crowne Plaza a different hotel covering different costs.

The new COOP Live arena is to be the biggest in the UK so you are going to need hotels so buiding a building simlar to the super casino building would help massively a hotel on the former gas holder site is no brainer as well

Level 1 is too shallow to be part of a single tier. It would mean the upper section would be too steep to join up with it if it were to be of a decent enough size.

A single tier is possible but they’d have to close the stand for a year or build over two years. In the latter situation they’d build the upper section first and then construct a new steeper lower section below it in the second year.

The club would probably think it was too costly to close a stand or do it over 2 seasons when they can do either a south stand copy or 2 tier stand for cheaper and in 1 season.

Well done @jrb that is what I have been trying to say but got shouted down for suggesting it

Could they not build the expanded 2nd tier with the North Stand still open then when the season ends join them together then elevate the first tier?

Liverpool is doing something like this with their Anfield Road end
