Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

I see Chris Slater at the MEN has been interviewing residents outside Asda and makes out that would prefer it like the way it was with derelict industrial buildings and poisoned land.

And for the surveys the owner of Manchester arena has done, how come they haven’t mentioned that Birmingham has 2 ( two ) Arenas with capacity’s of nearly 16000 which tears their argument to pieces.
 
Hopefully, the Club focussing on our home support (with the City Matters changes) might give our owners more confidence to expand the Etihad. Let’s face it, there isn’t going to be any significant improvement to the transport infrastructure any time soon so it’s partly up to us the fans to show that the Etihad is packed and there is excess demand for home tickets.

The Club will have worked out what is needed to
Justify a North Expansion, both financially and in terms of negativity about potential empty seats (not as big an issue I think).

That said, the implications of introducing Safe Standing might still be worked through.

Yes you're right. There should be incentives to attend. For instance over in Spain, Levante have just given free season tickets out for next season to 13000+ fans who attended every home match last season. We could offer £50 off next season's ticket price for 100% attendees for example.

A Swim, a Sauna, and a massage after a stressful match. While the kids are messing about in the wave machine pool, and on the water slides. :-)

They really are using dirty and desperate tactics to turn local residents against a proposed new arena, and to try and stop it.

Hopefully the *American’s* behind the proposed arena won’t get cold feet and decide it isn’t worth the hassle.

I’d like to see the leaflet. Can anyone post a picture of it, showing the wording. Thanks.

It will be interesting to see what the reply is from MCC on their counter leaflet.
 
Akin to a leaflet passed around South Manchester re the new Christie's development...a picture of Nelson's Column and a 'skyscraper' wording...though I suspect these leaflets are far more professional.
