Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Hot-legs. I heard about that, but it never ever happened to me, or anyone I know.

I do remember getting jammed up though, and physically it was much more tiring than watching football today. You had to constantly keep your position and you'd get moved around by the crowd especially when there was a chance. Hard to see how the surges worked when there were so many crush barriers.
Used to love it, stood on tip-toes with being a bit of a short arse, bouncing around and moving 20 yards when we scored...or hitting the deck and being jumped on.

Those days will never return & I'd to too old for that anyway.

Great days, happy days.

Yes. The best. I'd have loved to have seen a successful City side in my time standing on the Kippax but the months, and years of disappointment have since been repaid many times of over. To think we once thought we were cursed.

You make it sound like Manchester’s transport problems and huge under investment are all of its own doing. Manchester commissioned and paid for a study to build an underground at Central Governments request - when Thatcher was PM. They never received a formal response. Metrolink was the only option in town - and even that was delivered on a shoestring. There are few European Cities of the size of Manchester that don’t have some sort of underground. It’s a British thing - Birmingham, Bristol etc... could say the same we don’t typically invest in big projects outside the capital and with Johnson as PM that won’t change - HS2 will be scaled back and pretty much scrapped north of Birmingham - I’m told by friends working on the project. Northern Powerhouse my arse.

Northern Powerhouse?

I can understand someone wanting to travel from L***s to the utopia that is Manchester. Who doesn't want to better themselves? As for going the other way; Well, you can't account for some folks' decisions.
You obviously didn't read the full article Jim, it's only high speed rail in one direction with a pony and trap going East.
