I believe [Spurs] finished construction last year. Never actually seen it but I have heard it is state of art. Not a patch on ours though

If you want to compare what Spurs have got with ours, below are some images of the Spurs facility from their official site. Interested to know if they confirm your view:

If anyone's really that bothered, you can see more pics via the slideshow at the bottom of the page here: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/the-club/new-training-centre/.

That is pretty impressive

My son played at the Spurs training site earlier this year against one of their academy sides and can confirm that it's a great facility for the players. He played on one of the pitches to the right of the first picture posted by petrusha and the minute his match finished a tractor was waiting to cut, roller, manicure the grass for the next game. Had a bit of a walk round and there must have been at least 8 pitches for the academy kids to play on. Although an additional security gate meant I couldn’t get into the 1st team area.

Unlike City's training site, their facility is way out in the countryside down a number of country lanes and not easy to find. To have training pitches like this in the shadow of City's stadium can not fail to provide inspiration for all the kids trying to make it.

One thought though, big gate and massive security makes the whole Spurs training ground inaccessible to the general public. If this is repeated at City, which I assume it will, we'll have a fantastic 100 million pound development next to the City stadium, much of which, nobody other than a privileged few can access.

I think this is the general idea
-to keep a)press b)rival teams away from our training methods / tactics / training fights / missing players etc
other than the stadium corner

Yes, this is the general idea behind the new complex. I remember reading somewhere that the central facility within the complex will be for the first team training, and pitches close by to this will be used by them also.
If they are training in the central facility, or on pitches close by nobody from the outside can see them and then, like many clubs up and down the land, whatever happens in training, stays in training - not on the back of the red tops.

We are just unfortunate re Carrington that there is a public footpath behind the complex.

Speaking of the complex I drove past last night for the first time in a week and was surprised at how quickly the shell of the stand behind the goal (that would have its back to the Asda/Walmart) has gone up. I also didn't realise how close it would be to the pavement for people walking by, it is pretty imposing as you drive past now, imagine what it'll be like once the boards come down that are the site boundaries.

It is truly astonishing the pace at which everything is being built there. I have never seen anything like it.

modern construction is often prefabricated, so the site becomes a giant Meccano set. That is why they fly up compared to the brick buildings of old.

Slightly off topic but I'm very impressed with Nice's new stadium design. Just goes to show what a bit of cladding can do. Cheapest seats for league matches only EUR7.50 too.

Compared to their old Stade du Ray which basically had the appearance of something temporary made from scaffolding, it's like it's from a different planet. The new stadium's about twice the size of the old one, but they rarely sold out the old one so they'll be rattling around in there! Think next year's family holiday may just be to the south of France again. If we go late enough I should be able to take in their first match.

I was in Nice last week driving up to La Gaude so got a great view of the stadium and it does look impressive. Don't be fooled by the artists impression of the surrounding area, reality is very different.
