City have taken 80 acres of seriously contaminated, inner city brownfield land and are creating an academy/training facility second to none and better than most.

But as GXCity has said the wider project will amaze and bewilder many.

At the end of the day it's not an issue.

People amaze me that they can be critical at all to be honest. What do they want? Scrap Carrington and The Academy and return to Platt Lane?

I cant believe anyone has anything negative to say about the development. To me the underlying most important thing is giving us the potential to produce some of the best young players in the world. The fans are no happier when were winning on the pitch and the academy will hopefully go a long way to that. This is setting us up for decades to come and for me is what is going to set us apart from the rest.

On a side note, does anyone know when plans for the collar site will start to be released? Every time GX posts it makes me crave seeing something even more.

Apologies to GXCity and any others who may know differently but the exact make-up of the collar site isnt yet confirmed as far as I can tell.

Last I was told (and it was admittedly a while back) they still didnt have the 'key tenant' in place.

I like you am really looking forward to the detail as it is released.

It goes a long way to detailing how complex it is and a lot of it is way over my head in terms of planning and partnerships. We have the perpetual media crap that we are nothing but bad for football but this just shows the intent by the club not only to improve the football club, but also their commitment to the bigger picture of Manchester.

All the pitches are 11 a side size but all up to u13s play on 5 -9 a side pitches.

I know they can put cones out for them, but might have been nice to include some bespoke pitches for the young lads

And lose the adaptability to use a full size pitch? The whole complex has been designed to change over the years. That remit actually came from Arsene Wenger who bemoans the fact the their academy is unable to change now that it is complete. City wanted the flexibility to constantly adapt to new methods and technologies. There is nothing to say that a smaller pitch can't be marked up on larger one is there? But I reckon you may struggle to mark up a full size one on a 5 a side pitch.

Again there is always someone who is negative! Just trust in the club. They have never let us down and the people involved know a lot more than me and you on what is required to train young and elite footballers.

I liked the B of the Bang, I also liked that Soviet-esque "be part of it" painting with Mancini with all the players holding flags. It would be cool to have similar things for this/next season.

Does anyone know when the extension on the stadium starts? And while it's being done will capacity be reduced?

Does anybody know if once complete there will be facilities to eat etc,restaurants as my lad was asking me the other day. Saying it would be great on match day to watch the EDS etc and then the First team.

It would be fantastic.I tend to go to City square pre match with my lad but only hang around for about an hour.If there were early morning matches then this would be fantastic.(Not sure her indoors would be best pleased mind).

We hang around in town till 2.30 and then get a taxi to the game
Sometimes I might go to City Square instead for an hour and a half.

If the new facilities were cosy and not ridiculously expensive then I would use them either before or after the game as we tend to make a day of it.
On the other hand my other half is always there with me!
