So we run a deficit, and though you did not bother to cover the ratio of that deficit it runs at approx two pounds spent for every one earned, you keep up the pretense of comparing it as a % of the whole EU budget when comparing it to the UK when the truth is the real picture of per member state.
So if we are not buying from them they lose trade at the rate of 2-1 in monetary value, the pain will not be spread over the whole of the EU unlike the loss of our nine billion pounds membership fee, Germany will be one of the big losers as well as the biggest cash cow left in, the French will be big losers both in terms of trade and lose of that large part of the British nine billion that subsidies their inefficient agricultural industry at a time they are all but bankrupt, Italy the same.

Nor do you ever own up that the total EU trade is with less than 10% of British companies, while 90% quite happily cater to home or world markets under the hamper of the mountains of red tape membership of the EU imposed on members.

Who needs who dear boy ?

I love the assumption that the day after a brexit all imports and exports would cease.
I'd better stock up on aldi cycling gear and parts for my Peugeot before we leave the EU?
Will the EU make us flood the channel tunnel or just brick it up their end?
No it's better than that. There is a big button they press and gravity stops applying to the uk.....

Sorry that response was for mr chips and his black and white approach to the debate.

your point is a fair one but the same crap happens with meps.

I have to laugh. You say (to me), "you really are stupid" and you can't even direct it at the right poster. That's quite funny actually.

So you're saying that a few countries have big trade surpluses with us (great, we established that about 200 pages ago). So what will the other 22 or so have to gain from this lovely little agreement that's going to be like falling off a log, oh wise one?

I really wish you'd stick to arguing that we don't need a trade deal. That argument, you could potentially win. The idea that we can negotiate a no-strings trade deal with 27 other countries in anything less than 5 years and probably 10, is beyond silly. I am not going to debate this with anyone anymore. It's pointless. If you don't get it now, you never will and I am happy to give up.

The thing that is totally ignored by Brexitera is just how many companies in the rest of the EU are planning now and ready to try and replace the British goods that become too expensive with tariffs.

Meanwhile the British public is looking forward to replacing champagne with sparkling Colombian, Mercedes with Great Wall and French and German energy with power cuts. It is the opportunity cost that really matters . Europe has 20+ countries to fill the gap within the group

I now suspect this account is run by a bot of some kind.

Most people in the EU I think want a peaceful and cooperative Europe but don't want a Federal state.

Would people agree with that statement? And if so why isn't the EU doing what it's people want?
