Probably not, it read to me more like a wind up,
But there are people with that kind of attitude because the reasonable concerns were stifled rather than addressed, its the people on housing lists who saw the migrants getting houses (Please dont even try to claim that did not happen), the people stuck on shit housing estates with no jobs an no money, the people that have been spoon fed to blame someone else by no less than the f*cking labour party with the years of "Blame the rich", before they abandoned them in favor of currying votes from the middle classes, then along comes the likes of the BNP to tell them it aint there fault but those pesky immigrants.
But its gone a lot further, "Middle England" is reacting by going to the right, not with hatred but the genuine concerns that should have been addressed while labour was opening the floodgates for no other reason than to try and ensure future labour voters ( Its well documented this was their motivation).
