1. People don't need to get on the housing ladder but we do need to provide places for them to live. Today we do not have enough homes to accommodate the people who are already here... Where are the new immigrants going to live without displacing the existing people who are waiting?
2. So we know what the problem is, the question is what to do about it? How will remaining in the EU solve it? How does letting more people into the country than we need help this problem?
3. Yes, plenty of people who can't get a home are having to live with parents and family. There is not adequate housing stock to provide social "council" houses, there are not the jobs or wages to support them getting a mortgage to buy their own homes.... How does allowing an additional 300000 people into the country help them?
We must be allowed to manage our own borders and control immigration not just from the EU but globally too before we encourage even more people to come here. Not doing so is at best irresponsible!
