Imagine Mike Dean doing that?
He'd have played the tension for 10 minutes.
Surprised the yanks didn’t have an ad break before the “However”.Imagine Mike Dean doing that?

"We can't get yer offside but we can fuck you over for any old foul leading upto it!!Imagine Mike Dean doing that?

Twattwell: "Offside given. Rasmus Birtles. As it's a Manchester derby it's a goal and red card for Akanji for playing him offside!""We can't get yer offside but we can fuck you over for any old foul leading upto it!!
No, it is objectively not true.
The referee does not decide in any semi-auto system when the ball is kicked. If they did, then it would not be a semi-automatic system. It requires no human input, in fact it is locked off from human input to keep it neutral (like Hawkeye systems). The only thing the referee decides is if a player is interfering with play.
The PL is going to be using the same system that the Champions League and Serie A have been using for the last year. The only difference is that there is no chip in the ball, the kick point is instead determined by high-frequency cameras and an AI system that calculate the balls change in inertia. It is roughly of equivalent accuracy.
It is also, for the record, the Premier League clubs themselves and not PGMOL that voted to delay the introduction of this system until they saw it working properly in other leagues.
I agree that referees are absolutely shit and VAR is all over the place, but some of the conspiracy theory nonsense on here is proper deep tin foil hat stuff (no offence @TinFoilHat). Often based on pure lies.
You mean it is true then. The PL are using a substandard version due to money. There's no other description for it. The richest league in the world and they can't be arsed being at the forefront of technology
If you could talk down to me a little bit more that'd be great, thanks ;)
certified but not good enough for the Euros or World cup. It is substandard as it relies on cameras rather than the more accurate chips in the ball. It's pretty obvious that it's substandard also the champions league uses adidas balls so they'll be using the best in class version as well. No, it’s not substandard, where are you getting that from? It’s a different system that doesn’t mean it’s worse. The current best-in-class system from Tracab as certified by FIFA a week ago does not use a ball chip:
Tracab Semi-Automated Offside Technology Awarded FIFA Certification
Tracab’s semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) has been officially certified by FIFA. The system utilises advanced tracking camera technology ...www.sportsvideo.org
Besides the poster was saying they were using a version of the technology that allows the referee to interfere with the decision making system. That is not true.
