Everton (H) | Post Match Thread

The emphasis of this team has become about how many goals Haaland will score , the sooner he picks up a knock the better for this team , and that’s not knocking his input , he’s scored 50% of all our goals , far too reliant on him to pull us out of the shit week in week out , take KDB’s assists out of this team looking for him and we are bang average going forward!
Happy new year !

PL mins:
Foden 930 mins - 7 goals and 3 assists
Mahrez 548 mins - 1 goal 1 assist
Grealish 710 mins - 1 goal and 2 assists

Our wingers are just not doing enough. Mahrez and Grealish have a combined 1300 mins with 5 goal contributions?!?

Far cry from Sane/Sterling days

Saw this on Twitter - regardless of Haalands goals this is simply not good enough.
Nowhere near good enough. And even away from stats, we are boring when we have both Grealish and Mahrez in the same side.

When Foden came on yesterday he was erratic (and looked a bit rusty as he’s hardly played that much) but he was positive and direct. Would Grealish or Mahrez have leapt in the air with damned fucking determination to head that chance at goal that Foden did? They wouldn’t even think of making the attempt to do it, never mind actually do it and win the header.

GET PHILIP WALTER ‘RONNIE’ FODEN IN THIS FUCKING TEAM!

Well that made for a crap New year's eve for me. Just watched it back on MOtD. A load of teams try to sit back and hit us on the break, it's been going on for years. It makes us look slow because there's no space to run into and we pass, pass, pass along the back, side to side. Not a great watch. We need a little bit of class to open them up, Mahrez did that for the first goal. But Kev had an off day, Stones and Rodri maybe should have scored from headers, Grealish is not a goal threat and they defended well. If we'd got a second it would have been game over. One up and we're always susceptible to the one chance one goal thing. Ref was shit too. Stoppages, diving, fouls, it was like Everton became Atletico Madrid. No other team will have to face the same set up. Arsenal, the Rags, scousers their games will be mostly end to end. Oh well, Arsenal have a tough run of games and so do we. Let's see what we're made of. Happy New year.

Everton were excellent, and we were poor at home yet again. Could well be in a top 4 battle now i'm afraid.
Yer right about our game. We didn't play well. Too slow and any limited side with six or seven at the back can cope, and then they had the advantage of a ref who appears to have got a game from PiGMOL without having passed any tests, without having quaiified at a lower lever, ie Hough End, nor read a single line of what is written in the LotG.

Anyway, I've noticed yer poster name - mancityscot . . . . . . .

Leeds were brilliant . . . . . . . .
Everton were excellent . . . . . . .

Yer Ally McCoist!

Sone good points . Even if arsenal drop points we will still carry on playing the same way and yes we will batter teans and certain players will be forgiven for a few weeks but we will end up losing more points and in the end this season I’m afraid arsenal will walk the title .

Don’t blame Everton doing what hey did they desperate for points it’s up to the referee to control the game better plus from minute one we were riled up by Everton there tactics and it worked! Saying that we still should of won there goal was a wonder goal after a slack pass by Rodri! Be interesting now if Everton keep this tactics up and they should if they want to move up the table and they reminded me of the old Everton under Moyse! A pain in the arse!

You just can't draw games like this at home. Unforgivable. I'd love to see us claw it back but I'm not holding my breath. Champs league or the season is an abject failure. If you bring in Haaland and win nothing - piss poor.
