Can't argue with all the domestic success we've had but what you're talking about has been going on over the entire Pep tenure. I don't expect that to change any time soon. It is what it is. Lots more good than bad. Does it make me a bad human being to want even better? From where I'm sitting we should be 2X defending CL champions right now but for some very questionable decisions. I'll put on my armor as I'm sure I'm going be pelted for being an ingrate, a pessimist, a flapper, and whatever other names are used on here when someone gives an honest opinion that doesn't fit the narrative. Everyone killed Southgate for not starting Foden, yet Pep keeps him out at length and no one raises a brow. The media are so caught up in trying to make the club look bad that no one dares ask Pep direct tactical questions relating to player selections, in game decisions and what not. People complain about the lies told in the media, but from where I'm sitting the British media appear to be clueless fucking pussies who hardly ever challenge the big managers. In New York or Philadelphia or Boston you could be the manager of the most successful team of all time but if you fuck up a game or get knocked out by an inferior opponent you will be pressed post match, directly, not just on some stupid talk show later on or in print. Especially if there were some questionable decisions made that may have contributed to the defeat. There's none of this do you know who I am bullshit to hide behind. No falling back on your CV. Real simple "Where's Foden?" "Why wait so long to sub?" Let's talk about this match today, what went wrong, and what you could have done better to get a better result. A draw to this Everton team at this particular time in these particular circumstances is not acceptable, period. Winning 4 out of 5 titles is irrelevant to yesterday. I'm not going to whistle by the cemetary. Anyone who isn't concerned about this side in terms of winning trophies THIS season is simply being unrealistic. Can City come back in the Prem? Of course. but it will take some serious work. And fucking about without your best 11 whenever possible is not going to get it done. Start tossing the bricks, I'm ready, LOL.

People need to stop this "this side has won 4 of the last 5 league titles...grow a pair" stuff...this side, with Haaland, Gomes, Phillips, Alvarez and without Fernandinho/Sterling/Gab/Jesus has won nothing so far, it's a different ball game this season. Nothing to suggest they aren't well capable of winning stuff of course.
The frustration yesterday was the team set up. Playing a back 3 with Rico in midfield didn’t work. Rico was receiving lots of the ball, but just off loading it. He is receiving the ball where we need KDB to receive it, the result is KDB is forced wide.
I understand why Pep went for a back 3 as he was right thinking Everton would be reluctant to get forward too often. However, Rico in that position didn’t work. If he’s going to play Rico, play him at Right Back and get him overlapping, he has the pace and strength to do this.
My thoughts however are that Walker and Cancelo should be back in. Against a team such as Everton, whom we know will have a totally negative set up, Cancelo is a must play, due to his attacking ability.
Another frustration was the nonsense with the linesman and his ‘technology’. That lengthy stoppage whilst we were well on top, took the wind out of our sails and gave Everton a breather. How did we manage before refs and linesman were mic’d up? Why can’t they carry on or get the 4th official to take over. Fucking ridiculous.
Once they started to get into the game is when Pep should have utilised his subs; or at least immediately they equalised. We still had 26 mins plus stoppage time to get the winner, instead we just plodded on until the 87th min. Then we looked like we could Nick it, but the late subs meant we ran out of time.

Just plain slack marking. It's a team wide mindset. Like they can't be bothered to close on the ball or are simply oblivious to danger. It happens over and over again yet it never fails to shock with how easy it is for the other team. Compare how hard we work to score versus our opponents. It's striking the disparity in difficulty.

I agree wholeheartedly about Foden should be starting...
I can sort of understand Pep on trying to give more gametime to Mahrez and Grealish but sometimes even after 20 minutes you can see it not working as it should...but he rarely makes subs early doors.
As you say our domestic trophy haul is fantastic but we should have won the Champions League at least once...partly due to Peps changing the team system..and a loss of concentration in the Madrid game..
Hopefully Pep starts Phil and Alvarez and we can inject some pace and energy into the team..
Agree, we are in desperate need of both pace and energy...
No one moves to get where he can pass it to them. That would help.
It's infectious too. Foden's first touch was to play it back when there was an obvious forward pass on.

We need to acknowledge that both Mahrez and Grealish shouldn’t be on the wings together. They don’t contribute enough goals (1 PL goal each). They slow the game down (which is frustrating when we are chasing a goal).
Simple as that.

Sorry I am not buying that. I never see KDB have this problem of no movement, he is picking out balls every week in behind defenders and creating opportunities/overloads, as is Cancelo, Gundogan etc.
Foden also links play, playing quick one-twos on the edge of the box. Grealish, so far, has rarely displayed that ability to see the pass. Its not that his accuracy or passing is bad, but you have to see the pass in the first instance to make it. Hence its control, take the ball inside, then look up, not see an option and roll it back to the fullback or to Rodri.
We always get a couple of games like yesterday’s frustrating anti football shite . Problem though that’s two on the bounce in the PL at the Etihad. Brentford did exactly the same . Plenty of football left in the season though and the PL this season isn’t as strong imho with the dippers spuds and chavs all having their own struggles. Arsenal can’t possibly keep the current momentum up surely ??? Funny old game innit but City certainly need to improve !
Got a run of big fixtures from now until the next champions league game and we normally react brilliantly when we lose or feel like we lost a game with a draw. Always annoying to drop points in matches we shouldn't, but I'll take this result if it kick starts our seasonal 20 game win streak :)
I do find heads falling off all over the shop a bit much, we aren't even halfway through the season yet, and lets not forget it's only 7pts, this arsenal team are good, but we made that gap up with fewer games against a much better Liverpool team. Plenty of football left to be played this season.

After this weekends results , Spuds losing , Chavs drawing , Geordies drawing , Rags scraping a win and Dippers needing own goal charity to win our result against Everton needs perspective, the only team playing consistently well are the Goons , and their longevity is unproven.
We have some big games coming up and its around this time of year we go up a couple of gears and put a winning run together , the next month will give us the answers regarding retaining our title.

He’s a much better option than either of Mahrez or Graelish on the wings. So until Pep trusts him in midfield he should play one of these positions.

The other problem is Grealish reaching the line then expecting him to consistently put an accurate dangerous ball in with his chocolate foot. If you look at those situations just like the other night he usually takes a small touch too many to adjust for his left foot and always gets it taken off his Toes. The one time he didn’t he got his second assist against Leeds yet without watching it back he may have gone with the outside of his right?

Pep apparently said a few players are not showing the right attitude. Now it’s from the mail so hence the word apparently. We always see stories like this when we are not winning every game so make of it what you will.
It would explain the lack of subs and some players not getting on the pitch. Maybe the boss is reiterating his position after the new contract, bit of tough love.
Should see a change in attitude when the players return. Looking at Phil, Cancelo, Phillips, Bernie etc.
