Everton V City Post Match Thread

Is that 14 games unbeaten ? You wouldnt think so with some of the moaners on here , weve got Barcelona in the champs league , favourites for the last 16 in the FA Cup , within 2 pts of the Premeirship lead , and a £30m centre forward ready to sign on the dotted line , and very nearly a full fit squad , its really shit supporting City.

Frustrating game really. 18 shots and 2 on target isn't good enough and we're nowhere near clinical enough without Aguero. Jovetic isn't a striker, Navas needs to hit crosses first time. Hart made a mess, but made a few great saves. Missed Yaya's height on set pieces and his composure on the ball. Silva was just Silva. Unreal!

Arsenal and Chelsea away next in the league though. 4 points minimum really, but we're more than capable of getting that. 2 points behind Chelsea when they're 'running away with the league'. Id take that, Its January 10th!

Onwards and upwards.

We're home to arse

Look at this way maybe

47 points from 21 games this year , 47 from 21 last year.

Chelsea 3 points better off at the same time last year with two additions that have made a big difference to their line up so when push to comes shove they are not the dominate force that most think they are.

We have more upside than they do.

A lot think we dropped two points today because our finishing wasn't clinical which is true but if we fall short this year its defensive lapses that will be the difference.

Only letting them score so soon after we took the lead was the downer from today.

They hit the bar and Hart made two good saves and that was about it from them but even that was too much for us not too hold on.

More often than not the best defence wins the title and which all the injuries we have had as opposed to Chelsea its little wonder we are behind them but only two points at this juncture I will take that for now.

Navas was great except that bloody extra touch he takes.

What did he do that was "great"?!

He's wank. A winger that can't cross.

Yeh but he's really good at getting corners from them and we know how great he is at taking them

Shame some of you can't see the other aspects of game today. Thought he was excellent with the ball today and not giving it away. Always involved, the only problem was that extra touch he took before crossing other than he looked dangerous thought.

Do you think Navas is a good crosser of the ball then?

I think he flatters to decieve if im being honest but today he was part of a side that got a point away, in atrocious conditions at Everton.

I can see why he's getting a lot of game time; he works really hard and tracks back, gets in good positions, etc. It's just that his final ball is so disappointing! Towards the end of the game he got the ball in a great position, and there were about 4 attackers in the middle, but his cross didn't beat the first defender...
Give it a rest will you?
You starting to sound like a broken record now.

It's always tough at Goodison, no yaya, Sergio or vinny, take that all day, conditions were awful, and their set pieces are always good, ours on the other hand are shockingly poor, beat arsenal and Chelsea and go top.

Would I have taken a point before the game considering we are missing the spine of the team. Too right.

Shame we couldnt have converted more chances or held on to the lead for more than 10 seconds but thees iz football.

He is a winger who is unable to cross. When he does his mad headless chicken dash from one side of the pitch to the other with the ball at his feet with absolutely no idea of what he is going to do with it, it is comical.

He looked dangerous until the time when players win games for you by hitting the clinical pass/cross or finishing a chance. A very average player, not poor just average.
