Got back today and I didn't see any violence. Also didn't hear of any stabbings or kickings and spoke to a decent range of blues, some who had been in bars pre match in the city centre and near to the ground.

Heard of one incident where a threat was made and a gesture with a knife was done but apart from that heard nothing.

My personal opinion was that throughout the day Naples was a decent enough place, you could stroll about and have a drink with no bother but as the game approached and night fell it did seem a bit eery.

Personally I didn't take any risks, I had a good drink the night before in Rome but hardly had a drink while in Naples, went for a bit of tea and had 2 beers with my pizza but that was it. After the game walked away from port area and got in a taxi a bit further up the road back to hotel.

The worst area from what I experienced was around the train station "Piazza Garibaldi", got off the train and wasn't sure where our hotel was. Decided to walk to another hotel to ask at the reception but that 150 metre walk was right through bandit country, shady people everywhere and I did perspire a little if I'm being honest. Just had an awful look and feel about the place.

As a football experience, despite losing these are the atmospheres you look forward too imo, these are the types of games that justify what we do. It was purely class, what they do as a bunch of supporters can't be replicated and those that didn't travel really missed out. It wasn't a piss up type of place but it was a city that clearly love their football.

Overall, I wouldn't rush back there in a hurry but if we played them again in a few years I would defo go just for the game and atmosphere.

The reference to the fan having a knife waved at her was the only incident we heard about in the City. Personally we had a great time well received and looked after where ever we went. Napoli lads bought us beers in the first Pizzeria half a mile or so from the station we went in, chatted to us about the 6-1, Mario wanted to swap scarfs etc..

In fact the only words i saw being had was in a bar close to the port where 4 blokes who were of an age to know better where displaying an arrogant attitude that some Blues need to leave in England. They were asked to tone it down by fellow Blues, soon got calmed down but i don't know why people feel the need to attract attention to themselves?

The trip exceeded expectations so all in all I'm happy but you can always rely on City to take the shine off, ah well the League is all that really matters.

I had no trouble whatsoever until c. 20.45 (Neapolitan time) tonight on the flight back to Stanstead when a drunk, repulsive, sweaty, 'Blue' from Kent, sat down next to me, opened a bottle of whiskey and proceeded to make the next hour of the flight a living hell for me, my mate sat next to me, several small children, a host of other passengers and the Easyjet flight attendants.

I dearly, dearly hope, if you're reading this, that you enjoyed your night in the airport nick, because it was thoroughly, thoroughly deserved. You fucking waste of cells.

It appears he was just escorted onto the train by the police and that was it. The man was a disgrace, he was a terrible human being and I sort of wish the plane had diverted and left him somewhere random

That's great to hear Walshy - hearing scaremongering (?) on these boards the night before, did make me fear for our friends in Sorrento and Naples - chuffed it went smoothly !

I only saw part of your huge sprawling metropolis, but didn't like it if being perfectly honest Groucho.

It's NOT an average city, it's dirty, slightly depressing, and somewhat unfriendly.

I'm still glad I went though, and it was a pleasure to meet Pete 1201 in the Galleria
You may not like it, although i think it's quite strange, but de gustibus non disputandum est. But if you (not you, a general you) don't know what is Napoli, you'd better not talk. It would be the same if i'd say that because of some drunk citizen who made some troubles near Sorrento the night before the match, all citizen spend the whole days drinking, are noisy and Manchester should not be allowed to have an home game.

Ha - like it ! But we need our drink to save us from our sunless city. The miserable weather causes depression didn´t you know ? ;) But we have City, beer and a sense of humour as an antedote - oh and great music!

Just if everyone wants to learn something, "succhiare il cazzo" means "make me a bj". What a guy you are, the only thing you can say in Italian is a volgar thing. Great. I don't need to find any excuse for the behaving of some criminals, but do you really think you're better? Yes, that's the way, you're superior. Ok, lucky you, have fun. I'm coming to suck your little thing, as soon as you find it!

Here are the observations of my two mates who went, after the premtive strike on Sorrento in which the mancunian vanguard were involved in clashes with elements of the italian backtrack scooter brigade they came out with a few black eyes but moral high. On to phase two of the plan the invasion of Naples, as the english 760 regiment led by lord Monty of spike approached the city down tobruk avenue they were spotted by the italian army led by fat head posturing Mussolini not liking the odds of outnumbering the mancs 100 to 1 every tank scooter and car went into reverse gear but were brave enough to give knife across the throat hand gestures and throw fireworks before scarpering in a haze of exhaust fumes. As the mancs entered El Alamaine square they were met by the sight of the whole italian army sat down drinking wine and waving white flags just as their grandfathers had done in 1941 as my old dad used to say the ities think they are lovers not fighters and are not worth bothering with. Moral of story is dont exadurate with stories of did everyone get out alive thousands didnt fighting the italians in ww2 ie Monte Cassino and our lads are still dying today in afghanistan, last night was afootball match nothing more.

Quite possibly the best mis-spelling ever witnessed on BM. Take a bow.
Not to mention the jingoistic kind of bullshit that gets them (and others) into trouble in the first place.

No reported injuries, according to GMP/MEN.

Guess they didn't phone the hospital that the 18 year old Blue I was with got taken to after being slashed. As "Don Juan" mentioned earlier in thread, we got jumped by a scrote and it was only when we were getting away that he realised he'd been stabbed in his side. All I can say is thank fuck for the 1 plain clothes police turning up gun drawn as further down the road, the scooter crew swung round to take their turn. I'm not gonna get involved in the "were they/weren't they" debate...they were nasty fuckers: end of.
Hope the young lad was ok...he was more concerned about the rest of us getting into taxis. Big thanks to the lads who paid taxi back to Europa...come find me near 104 and I'll gladly buy you a pint.
On a positive note:the atmosphere and noise inside the ground was unlike anything I've ever seen or heard...completely deafening at one point.
Maybe we should get de niro on the megaphone at the front of the Etihad to orchestrate the singing !
