F.A.O The 'Bellamy, Bellamy, Bellamy' Crowd

We've blamed all of our managers as well.

Speak for yourself mate.

As a crowd we've been pretty supportive of our managers, even in the face of overwhelming evidence.

The only managers I remember the crowd turning on were Alan Ball and to a degree Frank Clarke.

This is not the fault of the fucking fans. I still can't believe the desperation of some of you to deflect the blame anywhere but at who's door it lies.

I disagree. There's always a fairly large number of fans who will automatically blame the manager when something goes wrong.
And I wasn't blaming the fans by the way.

Not having a personal go. But we as fans do have a major responsibility.

Do the team step up a gear if the atmosphere is right.

Subsequently, can it not work the other way?

City fans are a powerful voice. We've changed boardrooms as a result.

Fans are frustrated mate. We see players out there that are beyond our wildest dreams. Players that we know are technically way beyond anything we have ever had and way beyond the vast majority of the opposition we are facing. The frustration comes from then seeing an abject attacking performance virtually week in week out. The first 45 mins on Saturday was woeful. Slow wasn't the word. Had we started the game with a quick tempo and shown signs that we were going to be treated to an attacking display, the atmosphere would have been right but because it wasn't, the ground was flat. Bobby had explained Wednesday and many fans unhappy had said fair enough because he had promised more against Birmingham yet we got jack shit yet again going forward and it isn't good enough with the quality we now have, especially against a team hell bent on doing nothing but defend. The onus was on us and we didn't perform. Blame the players by all means but if the players are not adhering to his instructions he should change it, surely? He isn't beyond criticism mate and he has to show us that yes, we will be defensive when needed and grind out results but against teams 17th in the league, we will see a different approach.

Time for excuses is running out. He knows that. He knows that our club is unique in world football and that the 10 year plan doesn't exist any more really because the spending has been greatly increased so as to build the team we require. CL football is imperative to our future and business models and he has to deliver. No goals at home in the last 3 games and our goals for in general just isn't good enough and he has to improve that stat or we wont get top 4.

Most fans are not stupid mate, just like we wasn't when we had the fraud Hughes in charge.

The seasons 14 games old for fucks sake.

If we havent qualified for CL football at the seasons end fine peddle him.

But can we all at least sing of the same hymn sheet until then and get behind the team and manager.

Oh right. The fans who kept the club afloat you mean? The fans who cheered the team on through their darkest days? The fans who turned out in numbers consistently while their rivals cleaned up?

Stick that up your arse. Without us there would be no Manchester City.

The "disease" at this club has been poor decisions by the clowns at the top of the club for 30 years.

I can't believe I'm hearing this from some of you.

We've blamed the media. We've blamed the players. We've blamed our ex-players. And now we're blaming the fucking fans. Who next, the fucking tea-lady?

Wake Up and Smell the fucking coffee.

Dave, its not a case of whos to blame its a case of supporting the fucking manager and team on the pitch on a match day-not just when we win but when we are struggling.

The fans at this club have had a very big say over the years as to who we like or dislike but to chant for Bellamy ridiculing our manager is as ive said a fucking disgrace.

We forced Swales out,Reid and others,we have also destroyed numerous players over many years.

I wouldnt mind but Mancini hasnt yet been proved over a long enough period of time to be deemed a fucking useless tosspot.

We are going in the right direction or have i been reading the league table upside down?

You said yourself Dave that the booing and chanting Bellamys name was wrong.

We forced Swales out because he largely detroyed the club. Have you forgotten that? I guess the likes of you were the ones saying "get behind the chairman ffs" at the AGMs back in those days.

And noone wanted Peter Reid to go - his sacking was the catalyst for the Swales Out movement actually.

Know your history before you start pontificating about the club's past.

And we seem not to like it, strange really.

I have never seen more shit talked on Bluemoon than today. Ever.

Every City fan bar Colin Schindler is ecstatic that we finally have an owner with money to burn who is prepared to burn it on us.

There is a frustration building because we are constantly underachieving. And not making visible progress. Saturday was a microcosm of the last 12 months.

Dave,as we stand we are fourth, odds on to qualify for the latter stages of the Europa,we are only 14 games in with a rebuilt team.

How is that underachieving?

Or are you saying we should be top or second? All of the top four can say that to be honest-theve all played average at best and they have got established management and squads.

can we not just give him a break until the seasons end?

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever... we could have 3 fans in an otherwise empty CoMS, spewing consisten bile at all 22 on the pitch. Yet since we are in the industry of proffesional football, the crowd should matter very little when it comes to the outcome of matches.

Rubbish. Football fans and media dicate agendas.

The concerns for City fans at present, from outsiders, at the football they are witnessing, is touching.

City fans got rid of Swales.

City fans got in Franny Lee.

City fans got rid of Ellis and Reid.

City fans have always had to take a fair share of blame on our shortcomings.

If fans got rid of Swales, he'd have gone five years earlier than he finally did.

He left because he got the right deal. That's all. The fans never got him out, and we never put Franny in charge. The business deals did that. Like at any other takeover in any other football club.

How did the fans get rid of Reid and Ellis? No one from the club asked my opinion. I actually thought it was a stupid decision at the time and didn't support it. No mates of mine at the time thought Reid should have been sacked... so how did "we" get him the sack!?

It was a decision by the Chairman and his board... just as it has been for EVERY appointment or sacking in my lifetime.

Rather than blame City fans for the upheavals over the years, the board should get down on their bended knees and thank them for being so fucking patient throughout all their inadequacies and failings.

If Mancini does go, it will have nothing to do with the fans... it will be done by the board. Nothing will be any different with Mancini as it has been with every manager in the history of the club.

It really is the last resort when its the fans that get blamed for the activities of the club. Always remember "the fish stinks from the head"...can you imagine any other commercial organisation blaming the customers for being unhappy with their product?

I have never called for his head on here.

Last season and this i see a manager who sets out with a plan but football is a fluid game and often, plans have to change and in Bobby, i see a reluctance for him to change things and it's a weakness. He had the excuse of not his team last year and that's fair enough but in our biggest game in years against spuds at home we did nothing and i mean nothing!

This year i see a side that is 100% better defensively and credit to the man for that but going forward we are disjointed and devoid of ideas many times, Saturday proved that yet again.

A balance has to be found, defend when its needed, attack when not.

Bobby gets it right, City are successful and we all all like pigs in shit. I don't see people frothing at the mouth to get rid, unlike Hughes who was clearly out of his depth, rather i see fans that are frustrated by Bobby's seemingly one dimensional way of football.

Shit? visit on a matchday.

But we are progressing, not as quick as I'd like but we are progressing.
Did you really expect more at this early stage of our development

Fair point from yourself to be fair fella but your one of the more mild mannered supporters.

theres a growing number who want him out and couldnt give a shit about the consequences-ie qualifying for the CL,without it we could be fucked.

Dave-i really thought you were more intelligent than that

The disease at this club has been its own fans for the past two decades.

Oh right. The fans who kept the club afloat you mean? The fans who cheered the team on through their darkest days? The fans who turned out in numbers consistently while their rivals cleaned up?

Stick that up your arse. Without us there would be no Manchester City.

DD, don't take this the wrong way... it may never happen again... but I actually agree with every word you have just posted.

I think I'll go and have a lie down now... ;-)

I wasn't one of those chanting Bellamy's name on Saturday,(although there were several in the South stand nearby who were),and I would never boo anybody wearing the shirt, but I would get in the car right now and drive to fucking Cardiff and bring him back to CoMS myself if it were possible.
Players with his passion, pride and commitment are a rare commodity, and he should never have been released.
Would all those deluded fools who call him a loose cannon rather have someone like Ade who's work rate is nowhere near Bellamy's,or some of the others who seemed more concerned with getting home and tarting themselves up for the Haye/Harrison fight than hanging round for a post-match anaylsis?
By all means get behind the manager, but we should be entitled to question his judgement when we feel he may have got it wrong, and I,personally, think he did here.
