F.A. to have Wayne Rooney Testimonial Match

This being the best example of my posts, what has Hart got to do with it. People are offended because it is Rooney and played for United. Would it be ok if it was done for Hart too then? Agree with the rest of the post even if it is irrelevant to the actual thread.

Everyone can have an opinion, funny how it is all very negative ones though isn't it purely based on who he played for. I don't even really have one on this, it's all a bit meh for me but it certainly doesn't offend me as it does many on here.

So you say "everyone can have an opinion, but you don't really have one on this, its all a bit meh for me" so as usual you don't have an opinion but here you are doing exactly that, expressing an opinion on something you don't have an opinion on. It really is about time you started to talk sense , or even better kept your non opinions to your self, this forum deserves better.

Not defending Rooney, the guy is a bell end of the highest order.

they say it makes a mockery of getting a cap yet they want that cap handed to some average player who has had a handful of decent games in the Prem (not Sancho just in general) dishing the caps out like sweets. I am adamant if this wasn't Rooney no one would be arsed in the slightest. So you are saying they haven't stated how much is going to the foundation then you are declaring yourself that nothing is going to it, which is it? They either haven't stated it or nothing?

This is nothing to do with a City fan isn't it? For everyone slagging it then 100% it is being a blue and why your opinions are blinkered because it is an ex United player. If it was anyone else you wouldn't be arsed just like I'm not arsed. it is a friendly ffs. If you look at it differently it is an attempt for a send off for England's record ever goal scorer who never got the usual circus many other players did when they stopped playing, in a meaningless friendly against the nation he now plays. If it was Lampard or a different likeable character with no City link too you would be nowhere near as passionately against it as you are. No fucker is even arsed about Rooney, I don't know how you think it will get shit loads of publicity for it.

"People contradict themselves with their opinions though,"

Yet but you go on to say in a later post, you have no opinion on this.

Just like you to contradict yourself again, you say you don't have an opinion on this, but yet again here you are trying to put other people down again. How about trying not to accuse others opinions of being blinkered because Rooney is an ex United player or are you the only poster on here who is incapable of holding an "unblinkered" opinion.

Rooney would have left the Scum several years ago if it wasn't for a newspaper organised rent-a-mob sent round to his house and a huge hike in his salary by the "Evil Empire".

He would have become persona non grata with the media and establishment and they would never have invited him back for a farewell swansong.

By the way Phil Chuckle is throwing his weight around in support of Rag Head.

Jimmy please explain what money will go to a charity or foundation.

Not sure , but i am not naive enough to think that Shrek's glorious England farewell will mean his foundation will benefit from a few buckets being collected outside the ground , no one knows the deal with his foundation so i will keep my powder dry and deal with you when we have the facts.

Jimmy I was being mischevious (sp) sorry. I am pissed off with this as it was painted that his foundation would get all the money, millions, and isn't everyone wonderful. The truth is, apart from a buisnessmans lunch and a few buckets outside the ground, no money will be sent to teamRughead. It is back to bent old England looking after themselves and their mates. Didn't take them long did it.

So true , the headlines give the impression Rooney's foundation get the lot , which would give me a good reason to give it a swerve , not sure i concur with a few buckets and a posh dinner , this will be a never ending "blowing smoke up Rooney's arse" exercise , apologies for being so curt

The whole thing is beginning to unravel. And now it's revealed that the idea was Paul Stretford's (Rooney's agent), not the FA's.

It's fairly obvious then that this is nothing more than an attempt to boost his profile in the US ("Look how revered that guy from DC United is in England. They'll even play a game in his honour!")

How on earth have the FA and Southgate managed to get themselves roped into this self-serving publicity stunt?
