The rags play is hardly refined in footballing terms but unfortunately can be effective, unfortunately. Today their plan worked well aided by a horrible mix up which should not have happened, and lazy defending.

Poor team selection by Pep initially imo and strange time to play Stones who has been out for some time.

So, Foden has an absolute blinder against West Ham in his preferred central position. What does Pep do? Moves him out wide where he barely gets a kick and drops our most threatening wide player to accommodate Kovacic.
Seems to me Pep felt bad about dropping him for the West Ham game and this was a sympathy selection. If it was tactical it certainly didn’t work.

As soon as I saw them all steaming Sunday/Monday I knew it was curtains for us. A long old season and that sense of job done after West Ham made the players complacent.
