I don't think there's any point in a blue member with miniscule points, like myself, joining the cup scheme as I would never be able to qualify via points for a ticket anyway.
Don't think you can join if your a blue member
There you go then; I never knew that as I had never looked that closely into it, for the reason I said earlier.

Is it not a really simple decision. If you want to go to the Cup games and have a chance of going to the semi or Final join the Cup scheme, if you're not that bothered or can't afford it don't join but run the risk of missing those matches. The rules haven't changed half way through the season so why moan about it now?

No, it's not a simple decision. I would very much have liked to have gone to all of the cup games, I got a ticket for the semi (but didn't go) and will probably (hopefully) get a ticket for the final.

But I just couldn't justify signing up to the scheme when I renewed my ST. As it happens my situation changed and I ended up going to some cup games anyway, and would have signed up for the scheme if I had the option. I have been a member of the scheme in the past and will be again in the future.

A lot of people say stop moaning, but why shouldn't we have a say about the club policies and whether they are good ones or not?

What people dont seem to realise it that you can drop out of the cup scheme at any point, you jusy lose your loyalty points, City tell you when the money is going to come out if you cant afford it at that time you can cancel it. Also if the money does not come out City let you know, hold your seat and give you about a week to pay it, after that they release your seat but aslong as you but a ticket for the game you remain on the cup scheme.

And what have you achieved once you do inevitably drop out?

The cup scheme is a very unfair way of allocating tickets full stop.. all the bores saying the rules are xxx years old.. so fuckin what.

i signed up but was unable to make the leeds game because i was in hospital.. as a result i ddidnt put money in the account and was removed from the scheme.. ive had a sc for six years now but will miss out to some one who rocked up in august...

if thats what every thinks is fair... then i fear for what will come next.

If you've had a season card for six years, you must have accumulated a fairly decent amount of points. In which case you'll probably get one anyway.

I can't see it being too long before it's no scheme, no ticket though.

Maybe even next season.

The club are never going to get enough tickets for our fanbase for any final, even a league cup final we may get 35k tickets and we average 45k fans for home games when you take the away fans out of the mix.

I guess they have to do something and whatever decision they make won't be fair for everybody. As i have previously stated i missed out on the Stoke final while ANYONE on the cup scheme, regardless of points could buy a ticket. After over 40 years of supporting us was i happy?Of course not but it mattered not a jot to anyone at the club,i didn't get a ticket.

Also as previously stated i think the club missed out on not having some system in place to gauge loyalty and reward it in our 35 dark years.Sticking with them then was loyalty, anyone can be loyal now we have a decent side, some money and are winning things.

That is now gone though and we have to put up with what we are left with and try our hardest to ensure we meet criteria for tickets for the big games, like it or not.

Aye, true enough. I think the staggered scheme you proposed is fair enough i.e. cup scheme members are able to apply around 3,000 points earlier than non cup schemers.

I like it, and I'll sell the idea to Sheikh Mansour at mates rates too. ;)

Sorry to hear that but there has to be ways of determining who gets tickets. Cup scheme is as fair as season ticket holders qualifying over blue members

-- Sat Apr 20, 2013 4:57 pm --

6 years on a season card without any extra games or schemes would only be about 1200 points tops.
