Fabian Delph

If you honestly think Delph will give Busquets, Rakitic and Iniesta a game, I think that is you, sir.
You think he was brought in for that reason?

You don't think he could play in a league game before a big CL game to allow players to be fresh for the CL?

I suppose that would take some lateral thinking.

Delph can't pass the ball. He literally just runs around a lot. It'll embarrassing how far out of his depth he is.
You've literally just had to read his stats from last season before posting that, where he completed most passes per game last season than all our players save for Toure and Silva.

Thinking maybe tennis may be a better fit for you.

I've told you before about posting sensible things in this forum, it will NOT be tolerated!!

Great signing will get his share of game time and will add a lot of what Milner gave plus more quality with his final ball.

Jesus wept. Haven't you followed the fortunes of English footballers over the last half decade? Delph can't pass the ball.

Passing percentage is a nonsensical statistic that provides no insight into a player's passing ability. The fact that Fernandinho's passing percentage is lower indicates that he is simply a more ambitious passer.

He's been brought in to fill a quota. If he ever plays against a top team, be it Chelsea, Barca, Bayern, etc, he will be severely out of his depth.
Was he out of his depth against City or Chelsea last season?

And you're still ignoring the fact that he can play in the games before against lesser opposition to rest players that may be needed in the bigger games.

You are incapable of thinking aren't you.

That's because you're crap and don't know anything about football let alone stats. Passing accuracy is weighted against distance and split into several categories each with their own accuracy.

You are so massively far off base saying Delph can't pass that it's literally funny. Like those muppets who said Gareth Barry can't pass.

Come on then, genius. Let's see this statistical breakdown.

I know football isn't played on paper but if you look specifically at signings over the last few years we are starting to fall behind. Next season I expect our 3 main title rivals to be the chavs, gooners and rags and if you compare their recruitment to ours it does not make for good reading.

Arsenal - Cech, Ozil, Cazorla, Sanchez

Chelsea - Courtois, Matic, Fabregas, Hazard, Costa

Scum - Valdes, Herrera, Blind, Schweinsteiger, Depay, Van Persie

and then compare it to our transfer dealings

City - Caballero, Fernando, Navas, Rodwell, Sincalir, Delph

I don't think we have signed a world class player since Aguero and it looks like once again next season we are going to rely on the Kompany/Touré/Silva/Aguero spine to carry us through. It's one thing to have a world class core but you have to supplement it with other top class players that improve your starting 11 and the only signing that falls into that category is Fernandinho. 1 signing in the last 3 years.

Delph is a decent signing IF he's just the start but if the 'Big 3' (Pogba, De Bruyne, Sterling) fall through which is possible then we have to be careful because other teams are catching us up and soon we won't have that famous world class core to rely on anymore.

Like Rodwell and Garcia? Like Fernando?

Top clubs don't buy bench players to add squad depth. They buy top players to improve their first 11, which in turn moves a previous starter to the bench.

But that takes some advanced thinking and maybe you struggle with that.

Oh my fucking Christ.

I was right first time, you really don't understand football at all.

£8m? Has there been some mix up and Delph is actually not English and not playing in the Premier League? Because if it's true he's only costing £8m then that is an incredible bit of business.

It's down to opinions I guess, but in my opinion, Fernando wouldn't get in Hull's midfield. A truly dreadful footballer.

Milner was great when playing wide against top opposition in making us solid, but in central midfield he stunk the joint out. Doesn't have the speed of thought, tactical awareness or first touch to play centre midfield at the top level.

Delph is a huge upgrade on both in central midfield. He moves the ball quickly, picks the intelligent pass, reads the game well, has great pace, drive and energy. If he was called Delphinho, played for Zenit and we were only judging him on Youtube clips, people would be excited by this one. I think he's going to surprise a lot of people.

Very succinct and accurate. We all know the reason for buying Delph, but a player doesn't have to be spectacularly good at anything to make a difference to a team. It's about giving our key players a better platform, and his energy and pace might just do that. Add in the hg element, and this is a sensible signing. We need pace and energy, and we just bought some. Give him a chance.

Only on BM can a new player be slagged off without kicking a ball. This might be novel to some, but why don't we wait and see how he does, then get back in the ring with each other again to claim the high ground. Its embarrassing lads

I completely agree, On the face of it i have to admit i wasn't overly excited about him signing but the more I think of it I can see him getting plenty of game time. At least with Delph i have the confidence that he will have a serious chance of getting into the starting lineup unlike, Sinclair and Rodwell.

We are in the process of buying Sterling and attempting to buy Pogba you balloon.

We have some fucking idiots that support us.

There are a few on here having the same issue been around the block with it yesterday seems they want a squad of 22 world class players of which makes all the sense in the world to them......

Think he will be more important to the squad then people give him credit for, if we play three in cm even if we sign pogba I think he will play as much as fernandinho, his energy in cm will be vital to cover yayas runs. I'm a big fan of fernandinho but he is 30 and yaya is 32 a bit of youth and energy in cm will be pretty useful. He know the league and cups well so we can rest yaya or pogba for the big games.

It obviously works on Football Manager 2015

We're haggling over the matter of £5m with hedge fund sociopaths for Sterling and competing with the European Champions for Pogba.

I very much hope they sign because we need to stop shuffling the pack and start improving the first 11.
