Fans leaving early.

I have to say that the system of getting cars out of the main City car parks at the bottom of JMW (which cost £10 if you don't have a full season ticket by the way) is a joke. I parked there for the recent Watford game and we hadn't budged an inch a full hour after full-time.. no need for it.

Yesterday I decided to not do my usual thing of leaving at 85 minutes.. instead I watched the game in it's entirety and clapped the players off at the end (even Dzeko!). Then I casually strolled round to City Square and had a nosey round the shop.. then sat down and watched some of the analysis on stage (Tommy Booth & Peter Barnes we were on good form). Must have only been half an hour but by the time I walked down JMW - of course the City car parks were still packed with little movement. However as I'd parked over the road near the Kippax pub, getting away was a doddle. Might try this in future!

A solution to this is that they could ask all supporters where they need to exit because it seems everyone in the family stand wants to go via the south stand area and vice versa so basically we could all stay because we wouldn't have to dodge each other trying to get round the stadium
Bloody hell, thought I was the only one who had spotted this.

Got booted out of the family stand a few seasons ago and relocated to block 212 which is great but after the match I need to get to the Metro station.

I kid you not it is great training for an Olympic slalom event as you have to anticipate each approaching individual, pair or group and decide whether to go left/right/fast/slow.

If I left early I wouldn't have the problem to the same extent but also would not have as much fun, the early leavers should stay to the and of the match and give it a try.

It's no better in any of the other car parks. I usually park up up in St Brigid's School behind Mary D's. After the Barca game, I turned left out onto Grey Mare Lane (which was closed and diverted round to the right at the bottom) with the aim of getting back onto Alan Turing Way. Sat stationary for 35 minutes, so turned it round and went back up Grey Mare Lane toward Ashton New Road. Took 15 mins to turn right onto ANR and then a further 15 mins to turn right onto ATW, courtesy of traffic lights that were green for all of 10 seconds at a time in an Easterly direction. An hour and 5 minutes and I was closer to the ground than where I'd parked. How/Why Plod can't sort this traffic shambles out is beyond me. Rephasing the lights around the ground for longer periods in each direction would be a good start. Not like the Etihad is surrounded by tiny country lanes is it? Not a surprise then that there's a fire drill every week from the 85th minute onwards.......

I think all that will come, it seems the club will actually own east Manchester. With bridges and walkways I can see cars parking much further away.

In Germany teams thank their fans by walking to the fans-end (unfortunately we don't sem to have that area anymore at Eastlands) and thank them for their support. Obviously when the team wins it's like a big celebration, when they don't it's still very much appreciated by the fans yet not so festy.

Why is there not a single PL-club who does this kind of thing? Is it another rule by the FA as to safety?
I''m sure if there was to be a fans-end again, preferably a safe standing-area, and the players would go there en-group, it would definitely keep a lot of fans stay till the end and after.

On the subject: people who leave early have not learned from Gillingham and QPR. Final.

Because there isn't one set of Premier League fans whose players think deserve a big clap for their support because apart from physically being in the stadium, their support is none existent.
