Fans leaving early.

Surely the club, council, police and Metrolink could do more to ensure it is easier for fans to get away and home quicker.
I never leave early and do get stuck in traffic but I am generally home within an hour. I would rather watch to the end than be home in 30 mins.

It does need a really go rethink on how 47000 fans can leave with least congestion.
The car parks do get really snarled up and the queues for Metrolink are too long.

The club should want 85%+ to be there at the end not 60%.

It has got better, yesterday the ground was 80% full at the final whistle, I never leave early and have to sit in the car park for 30 mins then drop someone off in Midleton then drive to North Yorkshire but it is everyone's choice. I remember the play off final and QPR for 2 games but people have even further to travel but it is getting better.

always happened always will....................old news.

Its easier to see now as all seater stadiums show the seats.
It didn't used to happen on this scale. Maybe 5% of the ground left early whereas I would say it's about 40% these days. I agree with some of the posters on here. It's disrespectful to the players but also why would you want to miss any of the matches this season? People also seem to be getting in to the game later and later.

Us and Sunderland are the worst for it.

Thousands got up and left on Boxing Day against Liverpool around the 87minute mark, biggest game of the season, game in the balance, top of the league clash, thousands weren't bothered to see how it finished.

Plain weird!

I don't notice as many leave at a number of other grounds.

If we're by leading by two or more when the board goes up I usually start making my way to the back of the stands. Watch the rest of the game from there. It doesn't bother me in the slightest that my seat is empty for the cameras. I'm more concerned to make sure that I time my gradual departure for a break in play so that I don't block people's view.

There are games when I stay to clap the team off. Like the 1-0 against United in 2012 or at Newcastle last week when the players clearly wanted to celebrate the win with the fans. But if its a relatively low key comfortable win I don't think they give a monkeys about being clapped off. They're in just as much of a hurry to get away as I am.

What you have to remember now more than ever you have blues coming from all over the country to the games and for me its a 2 a half hour drive (my fault for moving up north) so leaving 5 mins early could make the diference of about 30 mins to an already long journey I still stay to the end always have always will

I can only recall leaving early once, 3 or 4 down to Leicester at maine road, dickov having scored 2 or 3. I have not left a game early since.
With our team, there is every likelyhood you would miss goals. Arsenal game as an example score was 5-2 on 90 minutes, finished 6-3

There is a guy in 109 who gets in up to 10 minutes late, goes for a beer at least 5 minutes before HT. Gets back at least 5 minutes after half time, and always leaves at least 5 minutes before the end. His choice I suppose.
