Fans leaving early.

You wouldn't leave early to miss the end of a good film at the cinema, so why so many choose to miss the end of a good match is beyond me!

I agree when the match is in the balance but as our home record is so good these days most games are well won before the end. Also years ago if you missed a goal and your team wasn't on MOTD then that was that, nowadays you can replay anything you have missed almost instantly.

If the transport to get people back into the city centre was better then less people would stop leaving early to avoid the crush and delays. Not quite sure how this could be achieved easily, but as we are looking at a window of maybe 30 minutes tops after a game, maybe the police waving the buses and cars through and/or re-routing non matchday traffic away from the ground?

The thing is I don't really think it saves that much time, I agree the traffic can be bad (depending which way you go) but that will be the same with all large sporting venues I would think, I hear that Blackburn close all their car parks for half an hour straight after a game to allow people on foot to clear the area, perhaps this is something the club could do>

YAWN !!!!!!

Agreed it is a boring thread.People have been leaving early for years. It used to be because we were getting tonked now it is because we are tonking teams, lol!

As for closing roads, anyone who has been on a coach to an away game has seen how effective this can be.Roads closed, police escort and boom out of the town and on the motorway in minutes.

agree its great if on an away on a coach.

I'm so glad someone has finally brought this up...

Why do the actions of someone which will have absolutely no impact on your life cause any worry? If people want to leave good on them, I mostly stay these days. Leaving a bit earlier is nothing like leaving a film or show as that's generally when you discover what's being going on for the last 2 hours, City being 5-0 up, you can usually guess the way it might go. Appreciating the players is another point brought up, they couldn't give a shit, they tend to hug each other, blow kisses to their families and be on their way home in time for splash like the rest of us.

It's the individual's choice whether to leave early. It's not for me as I don't want to miss goals etc and especially if the game is in the balance ( not often these days I know )

However if you are going early just fucking go !! I am sick of the twats ambling up the stairs and then stopping reacting to the crowd noise and watching from the aisle . I missed their second goal yesterday as I couldn't see a fucking thing as my seat is on the end of a row.

It's definately on the increase and I guess it's typical human behaviour to see others leaving and thinking " fuck it should we go aswell ?".

Like I said, each to their own but if your leaving, fucking leave !!

Those of a certain age will remember the words to a certain song....''If you've got to go just go now,go now,go now!'',lol!
