Totally agree with the OP. We like to think we are great fans but more and more over the past few years have taken to leaving early and it is embarrassing.

I love taking the mickey out of the rags for them leaving early against us but they can always throw it back at me when highlights on MotD show loads of empty seats five mins before end of our games. We are tonking sides yet their fans stay and support them to the end. Look at West Ham, one or two left but majority stayed even though they had a long trip back.

What kind of blurt takes the piss out of someone because some fans did what fans have done at every club In the country for decades? Seriously? Does this guy say "well you might be a brilliant team who are breaking records, stuffed us 4-1, have won 5 out of the last 6 derbies and are firm favourites for the league, but loads of people left with two minutes to go on Saturday, so it's all a bit hollow"

It's fucking kids stuff. Pathetic. And it's accompanying "I'm a massive blue and I never leave" harrumphing is even worse.
You'll stay till the end, you'll stay till the end, I am the exit police, you'll stay till the end ; )

They're going to put a sensor on your seat. When your seat tips up or does not have sufficient weight on it they will know that you are not sat on it.

Sanctions will be introduced for not being sat in your seat during play with possible loss of points, admission refusal for the top games and being moved to the new front seats where there will be no cover.

These sanctions will be applied as deemed appropriate by the club. They will politely ask you to sit down via tannoy as per current practice but apply sanctions only to people that they deem to be blocking another person's view if they have complained about it. because as they constantly remind us, it remains the biggest reason for complaint to the club. You will need to be sat in your seat for 4 of the last 5 minutes or for 5 minutes after the game so that you are not marked as an early leaver.

You will be able to reclaim your points by using the club's official refreshment and merchandising outlets situated within and around the ground.
Superbia SC holders will not be affected so that they may have priority when leaving the stadium. In the event of fire or other emergency your points will not be deducted.

I turned off the lights in EL3 yesterday, then proceeded to nearly get run over because the lights from Alan Turing way to Ashton New Rd switched back to normal.

No I don't think it has.

Are you serious?

This topic is so old you can find it in the British Museum in Cairo.

Me and Our Kid rarely leave before the end, and I have 180 miles to travel home, but the ground is much worse to get away from for us: we are usually passing by wherethe old ground was at around the time we used to be back at Our Kid's (near Middlewich).

I can't blame people for trying to save some journey time.
Yes OB1, it has been covered before and many times before, we have had a decent reason for leaving en masse, and that reason was mainly that we had seen enough of crap football played by crap players with no heart or desire. I appreciate that you live in Oxfordshire, and we have many others living many miles away, but if I lived miles away and had paid £600 plus for a S/C as well as the cost of travel, etc, I would make sure I stayed to the end, whatever the result was at time of leaving.
.
And, as I said, I do usually stay to the end; we did head to the exit during injury time of the West Ham game. Eac to his own though. My Saturday evenings are screwed (in terms of going out) whether I leave 10 mins early or stay to the end so I don't have a great incentive to take an early bath.

We do it every time we sing 60,000 empty seats. Yes it's all childish playground stuff but that's what football banter is and always has been. Nice to have the upper hand though.
Yeah fans of every club have been doing it for years but there is no doubt it is worse at our ground than it used to be.

The difference of course being staying to support the team when things aren't going too well as we did in the FA cup against them and leaving when we are 5-0 up with the game over and done with.

Yes mate, it's worse now than it has ever been, despite us winning every domestic cup and league game, hence me starting the thread.

I'm gonna see if the club will let me open a prawn sandwich stall soon, the way things are going : )
