Fans that have been supporting City for 30+ years!!!!

i must say as a going city fan since the 70s, i have seen better, but with the likes of lee, bell, buzzer, marsh, white, walsh and the like we have always been a attacking team. but i have seen alot worse. i think the manager wants to get us to 4th place, so maybe nxt year when we are playing champs league he will be more attacking team

A trophy is more important to me than 4th this year, i know the arguments for finishing 4th but its getting harder to take rag shit.

Went to my first City game in early 1964, some of the stuff served up around the Derek Kevan/Jimmy Murray period was pretty bad tbh....Gates were poor too, how about 8015 against Swindon....

Was this the game that Bill Leivers was so sipped off with the efforts all around him that he dribbled half the length of the pitch and hit a real banana shot for a 1-1 draw!

Been supporting City for 34 years now since I was 8 years old. And trust me we've seen worse than the current team in terms of style and standard. I think there's so much pressure to get that coveted 4th spot that perhaps some of the usual panache associated with Citys attacking game has gone out the window just now. I've no doubt it'll come back and I'll be there waiting as always......

Been watching for 44 years.

The football has been far, far worse than now. The team that got relegated in 87 sticks in my mind as the worst. Things are much better now.

What is worse is the whole experience of watching City, or any top club. It is quite sterile and commercialised, and the players have less attachment to clubs which isn't surprising as they now come from all over the world and many probably couldn't find Manchester on a map.

The football at City today is quite good to watch as premiership players are such superb athletes compared to footballers in the past, but I go to lower league grounds every now and then to recapture part of the old matchday experience such as terracing, programmes which aren't a thick booklet of glossy adverts and pictures of babies, dodgy tannoys and pitchside adverts for the local chippy and mens outfitter.

This is what really pisses me off about City 'fans'! We are 4th in the league and play
the scousers on Sunday with a superb chance of going 4 points clear of them AND having
a game in hand over them and some people are still moaning!! To gain a point at
Stoke without our 2 best players (by far) was a terrific result. A point away from home
is always a good one. How can any team play 'attractive football' against Stoke for Christ's
sake?! They are the new Wimbledon.

The moaning is nothing new of course - can anyone name any previous manager where a section of the famous City 'boo boys' didn't have a moan? And don't say Joe Mercer because
a section them did! It goes, way, way back. I remember the 'boo boys' giving
Ian Bowyer a truly terrible time and also Mark Lillis when he first joined us. Also, can anyone
name a single manager around the world who if he came to City some the fans would not moan? No - there you have it. Mourhino played some very defensive football and not only
did Chelsea clean up he knocked Bacon Face of his perch for a 3 year period! I have had
enough of playing 'attractive football' and getting soundly thrashed week in, week out,
season in, season out. I want to see a trophy and remove that fucking banner at the Swamp
and I honestly don't care how we do it!

I having going to City for 42 years and been a season ticket holder for the last 25 years
and a small section of the fans have always been the same. Ignore it. They are morons
they are the unhappy ones and the ones that are not enjoying it - not you.
Stay blue!

And lets not forget Malcolm Allison brought Rodney Marsh to City just to
make sure we won the league in style that season when we were something like 7 or 8
points clear (and it was only 2 points for a win!) and the rest is history...

I hate to say it but Milan played some fantastic football last night - they are
effectively out of the competition!

This 'attractive football' is not all its cracked up to be...

Football at the moment is a bit frustrating but in terms of the pits its nowhere near the fodder we ahd to watch October.November and December of the year in the third flight ten+ years ago.
