Wasn't the TR8 the same as aTR7 but with an 8 cylinder rover engine

I think (correct me if wrong) that big black bumper was a mandatory safety feature for the American market (and they couldn't afford to make different versions for them and us). But you are correct.

Possibly true! They do look great though. I remember Top Gear did a 3-way review, this, the Alpha Romeo Brera and I think an Audi TT . They raved about how the Chrysler looked....
