Jose Mourinho will be managing that lot come July. God I hope I'm wrong.

Fucking Moyes you must be joking.

Either Chelsea or the Rags will have to pay a huge compensation fee.

Re: Slurgie to retire...

No surprise if true. He was obsessed with winning the rags' 20th title and wants to go out on a high. I'm convinced he would have retired a year ago if the rags had won the league.

When the time comes he'll be made a director of the club and with a bit of luck he'll do what Busby (who was similarly obsessed but in his case with winning the European Cup) did and continue to meddle to such an extent that incoming managers couldn't break free of his influence and the rags went into rapid decline culminating in relegation.

Well I live in hope.

Only just realised since United have been a force they haven't finished outside the Top 3 (i.e. for more than 20 years!)...this really wouldn't be bad news at all.

Re: Slurgie to retire...

Its going to happen, I feel quite tingly. The end of Taggart, the glorious day is fast arriving.

Re: Slurgie to retire...

When is there final home game? God I would love it if he walked onto the pitch after they were handed the trophy, and made an announcement stating he is retiring. There would be a flood with all the fucking tears!!!

Have a feeling he just might do that.

I have no love of him at all, but i wish he would retire at the top as as much as it hurts me to say the man has been a genius and he deserves his place in the pantheon of truly great managers.

Can't tell if your wumming but I totally agree with you. In footballing terms he is the best, but off the field the man is a prick

Not wumming at all Rick pal

We have to acknowledge how great he has been and yes it fucking hurts because he did it with the Rag cunts. But his achievements with Aberdeen were probably greater as he ended the old firm hegemony at the time.

He will go down in history as one of the real greats and i have no problem with that as he deserves it.

My take on it is that he has been a great manager but not a great man. He was in place when English football changed and he used it to the very best of his ablity and his record is quite magnificent to be honest. I think he has sullied himself regularly but i suppose thats what you do for your team and thats how you win so much.

In the pantheon of greats were will he stand. For me he will be behind Clough and Shankly as they achived more from such a low base. But there is no doubting that Fergie is a genius and one of the top 5 managers ever
