Something isn't right about him going so suddenly and before the end of the season, they could of done this after the last game and jointly announced the new manager. Something is being covered up, something big.
Iknow i keep saying this but it was alluded to by David Meek on talkshite yesterday, something was not right with yesterdays timing

Please do not make unsubstantiated wild allegations about 'celebrities' on the forum

It's getting ridiculous the number of posters who think its alright to link the names of others with speculation

I don't get the timings. Something isn't quite right.

I'd love something to come out but maybe it was announced because they play their last home game of the season on Sunday so it will be a huge day for all the rags and media to worship Ferguson one last time. It will also make sure that our FA Cup win is once again overshadowed.
I reckon this is probably all there is to it too. As a poster above has said, no scandal coming out as he will remain at the club as director. He steps down , job accomplished: 13 titles, 5 fa cups, 3 European trophies, 4 league cups... 25 tournaments won. not bad going.
Now fuck off you incoherent violet nosed gum chewing cockdribble

Just going to sit back and watch it all fade away - reputations are easily destroyed. Will enjoy the allegations and recriminations once the canonisation is over.

Don't know how Monastic Moyes is going to cope at United with his devout adherence to frugality. Clearly he won't be making any big money transfers or poaching other teams better players - (if he isn't a hypocrite of course). According to the book of St Moyes, players leaving for more money and to better their careers (just like he is doing) is a sin - surely ? Remeber how he cast out and banished Jolean of lescott.

David Meek hinted at it in his Gray & Keys interview. Said something about a difference of opinion with the Glazers over future transfer spending and he was more pushed than jumped.

I posted about this in the main Rags thread but I understand he's faced them down a few times in the past and forced them to spend more than they wanted. The background to the Rooney transfer request 3 years ago was money. Their wage ceiling at that time was £90k a week I was told and that stopped them recruiting the really world class players they were linked with in the press like Sneijder. Rooney wanted to double that and at first the Glazers refused, trying to call his bluff. However, after least one other club (not us) came in with a much higher wage offer, they caved in after what I'm told was a fractious telephone conference.

My source told me that the real problem was that there were a number of players (4 or 5) who had "parity" clauses in their contracts, which meant they got the same as the highest paid player. So that cost them an extra £20-25m a year straight off, plus the ceiling was broken so others got increases as well. Hence their wage bill is going up faster than their income. I'm told there was a lingering suspicion that Baconface (& Gill) were not entirely innocent in this.

They've now got their own man, Ed Woodward, as CEO and I'd say they're going to start controlling costs more aggressively. My guess is that they've seen that Liverpool and Arsenal have continued to pull in substantial income without actually winning things (and not even being in the top 4/CL in Liverpool's case) while keeping costs down or even reducing them in Liverpool's case. Their business model is based on getting no further than the group stages in the CL and they could even survive not making the CL at all for a year.

Their thinking must be "Why spend £50m or more to win the league, when it only brings in £4m more prize money than finishing 3rd?" There's no way Baconface would accept that viewpoint.

Ratboy Jumps Aboard SS Glazanic As Big Rats Jump Ship

rats_zps6f99f8ce.jpg

Fergie, Gill and now apparently Rooney has joined the rats jumping off the sinking red ship. So many are throwing themselves overboard they're having to hire Ratboy Neville as ratcatcher in chief.

Baconface says he has left the place in the "best possible shape". Especially when you take into account a set of of rapacious debt-laden owners whose only priority is to make sure that money isn't taken out of their cash machine for trivialities like new players.

Add to that an ageing squad - Giggs, Scholes, Percy, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher & Carrick together with absurdly overhyped utterly average players like Evans, Jones, Smalling, Cleverley, Welbeck, Rafael, Kagawa, Buttner and Young. Even the the likes of Little Pea, along with Nani, Anderson and Valencia are apparently being hawked around as makeweights in desperation for Moyes signings on cheapo wages.

Fear is the key for the dark side from now on. And their biggest fear is us!

My rag mate sent me a picture of him in his champions t-shirt. I amended slightly...

Re: Ferguson **Confirmed Retired** (merged)

It all seems very strange the timing of the whole thing. What sort of way is it to leak the information on a Tuesday night?

2 weeks before the end of the season?

The silence from bacon face is odd as well - I would have thought they would have liked to pre-record some sort of interview with him, along with a statement and messages of thanks etc...

And not to mention securing a new manager before getting rid of the old one. Obviously they could have but the sudden meetings with Moyes and whoever is odd.

Considering they've had 26 years to plan it, the whole handling of the announcement has been rather hasty

Do you think so? Under stock exchange rules they are obliged to announce senior management changes, once rumours started it was imperative that the announcement was made. Further, Gollum's future at Everton has been speculated about for most of the season.

Bacon face retires, Gollum is appointed in a matter of a few days. Regulatory hurdles are overcome and a new man is at the helm immediately. Regardless of our feelings its a seamless transfer of power with no hint of panic. Had there been any panic the share price would have not rebounded as it has.

Most of us want to retire as soon as possible, I'm surprised he stayed on so long after his previous announcement of retirement.
