Flexi Gold season ticket

Tim, with respect, he has complained about the fans’ role in generating atmosphere but, unless I’ve missed something, has never criticised the club in their role in this.

If he is invested in generating a better atmosphere he could have a chat with Txixi and Soriano about their plans for the North Stand
It's too late for that. The plans are already in place whilst the North stand is constructed. The club aren't changing anything. First and foremost the North stand was designed to dive match day revenue first and foremost, and the atmosphere much later.
.

Pep doesn’t understand what is happening in the stands - fans being priced out.
He does. He knows what's going on. But he won't come out and publicly criticise the club, Khaldoon, and his fellow Catalan boss. That wouldn't go down well with Sheikh Mansour.

Under the FAQ’s section this answer suggests that you might be incorrect in your assertion.

Fans can opt-in to purchase their seat three weeks prior to the game. Match ticket prices will vary according to seat location and opposition. The total amount payable - should you attend 19 fixtures - would be equal to the Gold Season Ticket price for the respective seat, excluding the Membership Fee.
And this is where it's totally wrong. If you attend 19 games on a Flexi-Gold then it should be the same total price as a season ticket.

Flexi-Gold is a good idea that's been badly executed.

I bet a few more season ticket holders fuck it off when there’s another price increase next month. The more the merrier as far as the club is concerned

Totally agree with your sentiment, but I'd change your last sentence to 'Flexi-Gold is a good idea that's been badly manipulated'

I made the original proposal so I know it definitely hasn't been executed as intended.
Your original suggestion was a great idea, the club have abused that idea though, and took it to another level by making it the only option for new season tickets.

If they were going to monetise it, they should have made sure that anyone who attended all 19 games wasn't charged anything more than a season ticket holder sat next to them. Maybe those who attended the minimum 10 games only should have been charged the £150/£75 with a sliding scale down to £0 for 19 games?

I agree but the original concept I pitched to City was that the £150 could be 'called off' against ticket purchases at £10 per ticket meaning that you'd used it after 15 purchases (but would still get that £10 for any other tickets you bought over that 15). Or there could have been other ways of doing it so that you didn't pay any more than an equivalent season ticket.

The point was to help with the no-show problem, meaning the club could sell those seats that the FG ticket holder couldn't use. That's where they'd make the money as they'd have more seats to sell.

But they saw an opportunity to rip people off, which they never seem to spurn.

Yes it was a good suggestion to resolve a clear problem. I'm sure you wouldn't have suggested it if you thought it would be utilised in the way it has. That in itself is sad indictment of how the club treat / see City Matters.

It’s an absolutely shit idea that just allows the club to make more tickets available to tourists by taking FG non take up
Tickets out of circulation

Corporate in the lower part of Tier 2 is an obvious own goal and could still be changed if there were sufficient will amongst our Execs. Like you, I think it’s very unlikely the plan will change though.

I think he should give Carlos Vincens a kick up the arse because of the Prem tickets the deputy coach handed to Spanish supporters, kitted out in their club’s clobber

It's not happening, is it mate.

We all know what Khaldoon, Soriano & Co want the expanded and new North stand home end to be.

City should see the light now, rather than be embarrassed next season when most of our corporates fook off to Anfield to watch the dippers.

What was 9320 like today, heard there were a lot of mickeys in there? I know you've been a big advocate for the hospitality light areas are just normal blues (and I totally agree those with STs in there are) its those resold by our ticket partners I'm thinking about....

It was mainly the usual faces for Prem in 209. There was a young lad wearing a half and half scarf sat with his Dad in the row in front but they didn’t flinch when Liverpool scored so might have been neutrals. There was a Chinese lad on our row who was a big Blue. I think he’d got his ticket on the Ticket Exchange.

In contrast, the Madrid game was more mixed and there were four Germans nearby. They celebrated when City scored but they followed a Bundesliga side, maybe Bayer Leverkusen. Two Madrid fans sat 7 or 8 seats away were thrown out. It was mainly Blues though.

The low point against Madrid when me and a mate were goaded by a Madrid fan from the seats in front of the Exec Boxes.

The low point against Madrid when me and a mate were goaded by a Madrid fan from the seats in front of the Exec Boxes. It nearly turned unpleasant and he was helped out by a City employee looking after the boxes who told us to get lost. It’s Definitely corporates first. There’s no hesitation throwing out people in g/a seats but the corporates, regardless of who they support, seem untouchable.

I dont hold out much hope there will be much difference in North stand Hospitality lite, hopefully they can see what's happening but I'm not sure they care!

209 has improved this season in terms of the number of seats occupied by lifelong Blues for Prem games. Based on what I have read on here, other parts of the ground are getting more tourists. That might give the touts a bigger mark up.

Flexi-Gold is a good idea that's been badly executed.

What I would like to see happen, although I’d be amazed if it did, was for them to offer any flexi holder who attends all 19 games, the chance to renew it as regular ST next year.

It would lose them maybe a couple of hundred lots of £150/ £75 tops. So nothing really financially. But would show that they want people to have the right ST for their circumstances and it’s not as many people think, just a money grab.
