Football Pundits

This theory that pundits have, that you have to have played at League/PL level to pass judgment, is total garbage. I'm not a hen, and I've never laid an egg, but I know damn well when I've had a rotten one. Do film critics have to have won an Oscar for acting or directing? Could food critics cook haute cuisine?
I worked with a fellow who'd played League football with Walsall and Aston Villa, and he had the stupidest notion of footballing judgment. Pundits talk shite too.

Of course he would, but he's talking about Palace, and saying they've done well. He's right too, they aren't going for the title, it's his judgement given what they have to work from.

Correct. It's all relative to where they want to be and what was needed.

But the question was who had the best window so that's bollocks.

So you're saying that only big teams with lots of money can have the best window? That's more bollocks.
Yes. I am saying the best window is obviously going to go to the club that have signed the best players.

I bet you thought Brenda was manager of the year instead of Pellers as well when we won the double yeah?

Any other entirely unrelated examples you want to use in your fallacy of association?

Then to address the point that actually has any relevance whatever to the subject, it's good to know that around 18 of the league cannot possibly have the best transfer window.

This is why Gary Neville looks so good. There's nothing particularly special about him, he just actually does some research and has some tactical knowledge. If being a pundit is your full time job, there's literally no excuse for no knowing players from other leagues and the lower leagues, and yet frequently players get dismissed on the grounds that pundits have never heard of them. I remember when Sven came in and bought a load of players, this was exactly what happened, and yet we had a pretty successful season and some of his signings turned out quite well. Hell, it's quite funny that Man Utd fans haven't heard of Martial, but it's pretty embarrassing for a professional pundit to say that they've not heard of one of the big prospects at one of the best clubs in France. It's not as if it's hard to get Monaco on TV.

The best transfer window should go to the team that improved the most for the least amount of money. That's all there is to it imo.

And around 18 of them that can't win the league.
