For anyone slagging off SWP......

If you're going to trash my views and call them daft at least have the decency to read all of the thread yeh?
I have already explained why I wrote the line about his head being battered. I said it was the REASON for his insipid display today. That I wasnt defending him nor excusing him.

I wouldn't normally respond to anyone who turns a statement into a question by tacking an irritating and quite superfluous, never mind misspelt 'yeh' onto the end of it, but in your case I'll make an exception.

This is a forum. People who post on it have views. Sometimes their views are different to those of other people. I have read your views. And, on this occasion, I disagree with your views. I also think your original post was a daft one. On another occasion I may agree with you, yeah?

P.S. Does the name 'Dale Carnegie' mean anything to you?

Jimjarri I apologized for my original post. The apology came before a lot of the flak I'm currently getting and was completely voluntary.
I also explained - to my own detriment - that I wrote it in haste.

But the respect goes both ways doesnt it? If someone is relatively new to the board and puts up a genuinely heartfelt post - a belligerent one yes but certainly not on the confrontational scale I have seen elsewhere at times - then isnt it ill-form for an experienced member to try and embarrass that new member?
Isnt that a bit out of order too?

He wasn't great today, but he is a Blue, one of our own. I never thought I would see the day when City fans turned on Shaun, it's fucking sad if you ask me.

Fair enough, his dad is a twat but it isn't Shaun that went shouting his mouth off to the press, it was that gobby prick.

Just to put you in your place, yes shaun did go mouthing off to the press, there was a full page spread on him with his quotes in the sun. If a player isnt good enough he aint good enough, and thats the reality of it.

Not only did he 'mouth off' about it, but in The Scum too! Lest we forget, this is the same Tory propaganda sheet that featured a full page, full colour shot of Marc-Vivien Foé dying on the pitch on its front page.

Why is that bad??? Did they slag him off or something???

It was a request not a statement so its perfectly acceptable to finish with a question mark. I simply missed the 'a' out of 'yeah' because people are sniffing blood and I'll be fucked if I'm going down without a fight so I wrote my reply quickly in order to defend myself against someone else.
But haha yes I do know who Dale Carnegie is. Point taken. There is a Cher song in my head right now. The one where she looks like a bloke in drag in the video sitting astride a gun-turret on a ship.

If you felt embarrassed by my comments or the facepalm pic, I apologise; that was not the intention. However, as you have already admitted, there are far more confrontational remarks to be found on this forum than my one (or indeed, yours). If you were embarrassed by my post, you'd better develop a thick skin if you are going to hang around the twilight zone that is BlueMoon. And once again, apologies. Still think SWP doesn't deserve his place in the team ahead of Johnson though. We'll have to agree to disagree on him.

Thank you mate. Sorry if I was a bit of a cock. You hit the nail on the head with the thick skin comment. Just had the shittiest weekend imaginable so it probably wasnt a wise idea for me to put up my original post. Must have a masochistic streak I wasnt previously aware of haha.

This whole love affair with SWP really annoys me. He couldn't wait to get in his car and pull the Chelski shirt on just a few hours later. I understood when other fans said he was simply looking out for his future, but it still made me sick at the time.

I was glad to see him come back because on his day he can do things that, at that time, we were sorely lacking. Now all this shite about wanting more money, coupled with the "loyalty to City" nonsense, is making me angry.

Compare him to Dunne. Dunne didn't want to leave City, gave 100 percent in every match and when did you hear Dunne bleat on like a selfish kid whilst insulting the intelligence of the clubs fans?

I really want to scream when people go on about SWP as if he is somehow a player that is beyond criticism.

Shaun...get your act together, shut up, get your dad to shut up too and start playing as if you mean what you say in the gutter press.

EDIT...this was not meant as a go at the OP. More a rant against this fixation of SWP that some have. It has been going on for too long IMHO.

-- Sun Mar 14, 2010 10:34 pm --

And one more thing on the topic of SWP. ;-)

When we played Chelsea at ours a few seasons back, and SWP got cheered whilst a player that had the City shirt on got booed (before he even stepped on the pitch!!).

It happened and it was disgraceful.
