As an American I have to say that Frank Lampard is a fucking piece of shit, but I also have to admit that adding to our homegrown quota and increasing depth will only be good for the team.

Frank Lampard will temporarily return in England, but not at Chelsea: his near future is at Manchester City. The coach Manuel Pellegrini confirmed it: “Lampard will practice with us next week.” New York City FC is set to loan Lampard to Manchester City.

Why do we need this guy - may have been a top pro but some way past his best now and not the most mobile so unlike a lot of people i dont see how this improves our squad, will he be happy playing mostly domestic cup games??

Asked if he would play against Chelsea Pellegrini added: "I will talk about all those things with him but he'll be a player for City and he'll play every game he needs to play."

Is Lampard a six month loan? "For the moment he will start working with our team from now til January and we'll see after that.

"He's a player for New York City and we'll what happens when he comes to us.

"Our transfer business doesn't need to be complete today. We have time to analyse the squad and see what we'll do from now till the last day."

Pellegrini on Lampard: "As you know Frank has signed a contract with New York City and will start working here in January as the season starts in March.

"From next Wednesday he will start working with our team and will play for us until then.

"At the moment he will work with the squad and be a member of the squad. He will fight for a position.

I really hope that's unofficial and not something he or anyone from our club states on the record. It isn't going to do the squad spirit any good with a player who openly pines for one of our rivals.

Is this not the end of january, while yaya's away.
Its only a five month loan if its over at start of january.
