Subs: Wright, Barry, Milner, Nastasic Aguero Tevez Sinclair
I don't give a flying !*!*! about our recent reputation for playing open & attacking football... We simply have to be more solid than in recent weeks, and if that means upsetting the Fulham fans - and more particularly the TV companies - by boring them wit-less, then so be it.
I would therefore go into the game with a solid 4-5-1 formation, reminding Zabba and Alex that, as full-backs, their main job is to stay in their own half and basically stop their opposing wide-men getting crosses in... rather than habitually bombing forward, at every opportunity.... thus leaving gaping holes in wide areas, at the back, for our opponents (vis-a-vis Agbonlahor) to continuously exploit.
I would play Maicon in a wide midfield role, - A lot less running to do, in terms of getting up and down the pitch, will hopefully mean he can get forward more quickly and be at his most effective. - Rodwell & Yaya in centre-midd to add strength & stability, along with the creativity of Silva, leaving Clichy to balance. up the width on the left side.... and tuck in (along with Maicon) when Fulham are attacking
Result: Fulham 0 -1 CITY (Dzeko)
