There's been some right shite in these first two episodes. So far it's been too much of a high school reunion and the story hasn't been pushed forward at all. The writing and pacing is all over the place too.
I wouldn't call it shite but I agree to a degree. I just took it that they focused on the characters to set themselves up for their impending doom.
Brienne of Tarth for example, her being knighted and visibily moved at her achievement sets her up for death IMO. Sam's reluctance to fight and visible regret sets him up for deciding mid war to go and fight and probably end up dead. They just seem to be manoeuvring things ahead of the war rather than advancing the story. Would expect the next episode to change that. I did say to my mrs they have an awful lot to fill into 4 episodes, including the war for the iron throne once/if the first war is won
