Says who?

"City Watch @City_Watch · 59s

(2/2) City will pay just under £30m for Mangala, which will rise to £32m+ if the club are successful. He will be the last summer signing."

That is from a report in The Mirror .......... never take The Mirror as gospel

Also, if we can't move any more players after Rodwell, buying Mangala would logically be our last piece of business (at the time of Txiki's interview we hadn't sold anyone). If we can sell more, however....

Having medical at Zenit .today ... £10m rumoured to be fee
If true, again good business by Txiki to get 10m for Garcia. Who has impressed here only couple of months. So our net spend is soon +£5m until Mangala but still. But we are ruining football

This is more important than Mangala, why is it when you need a training report from the ground there isn't one to see if he is there or not. :-)

"Zenit" close to buying Spanish midfielder Javi Garcia

In the coming days, the St. Petersburg club may announce transition opornika "Manchester City"

Representatives of St. Petersburg "Zenith" in active negotiations with the leadership of "Manchester City" for the acquisition of rights to 27-year-old midfielder Javi Garcia.

According to our publication, in the case of the transition to the "Zenith" Garcia retain their annual salary, which is about € 5 million Given the fact that a valid contract with the football "citizens" is designed for two more years, the main problem is the amount of compensation. Now the market value of the Spaniard is estimated at about € 16 million and "Zenith" is willing to pay the money. However, representatives of the "Manchester City" want to get right to Xavi for around € 20 million

Javi Garcia is a graduate of Madrid "Real". However, opportunities to express themselves in the adult team received infrequently. As a result, transit through one-year lease in "Osasuna" the summer of 2009 was sold to Lisbon "Benfica" for € 7 million

As part of "eagles" Garcia played three seasons. A total of 132 on account of the Spaniard's game and 14 goals. Together with partners Xavi became the champion of Portugal and double winner of the League Cup.

Garcia's success has not gone unnoticed by breeders leading European clubs. In August 2012 representatives of the ubiquitous "Manchester City" bought the rights to the football player for € 20 million in the first case of England midfielder went well, but after the dismissal of Roberto Mancini, the Spaniard found himself less and less in the starting lineup.

If this deal goes through we'll still have a fair bit of money left after the Mangala deal

Premier League: Javi Garcia is a player of Zenit
Manchester City's Spanish midfielder was a target market of Naples.

Premier League: Javi Garcia is a player of Zenit.
Zenit St. Petersburg is strengthened in view of the preliminaries of the Champions League , the team of Villas Boas achieved by reversing the defeat in the first leg dall'AEL Limassol. The Russian club, included among the seeded teams like Arsenal and Napoli, today officially announced the purchase of Manchester City's Spanish midfielder Javi Garcia. The twenty-seven, who was a target market of Naples , signed a rich four-year contract.
Even if the above isn't true, it does seem inevitable

:(

So they are willing to pay €16m euros which is about £12m, but City want €20m which is about £15m.

Feel sorry for the lad if he goes, back end of the season he played well probably been told he isn't going to be in the champs league squad and not going to get much game time. Wish him well

I am hoping Zenit pay us 16m. :-)

You missed a decimal point mate;-)

Why though? Aren't Zenit supposed to be rich?

If wages are not a stumbling block, 10-12 mill should be a decent valuation.

If wages are a stumbling block, he should go for 8-10 mil.

TBH, really surprised by the Rodwell fee so my expectations are a bit raised.

He's been a model pro while at the club, never complaining, doing any job asked of him and always saying the right things and being loyal (when others who've ben treated far better haven't), so it's a bit of a shame he's being forced out, but the HG rules have tied our hands. I wish him all the best if he does leave.

One of my favourite members of the squad and ill be sad to see him go

He has been the model professional since he has been at City, took plenty of stick from fans but always worked hard and kept giving his best

The last few months of last season showed what he is capable of and he played a big role in us becoming champions, but perhaps he doesn't reach the level we require on a frequent basis

But again this is an added advantage of us paying 'lower' wages now, moving players on isn't as difficult and we can even get a few extra million out of the sale

Sales; 10.25m + 12m + 2m = 24.25m
Costs: 12m + 4.4m + 29m + 1.5m = 46.9m

NET: 22.65m spent. So about 30m to spend. + Richards, Sinclair and Guidetti sales still to come.
