Torres was injured at Liverpool and has never fully recovered. Wrong example. That's only how it looks to me. Only the player and those close to him know for sure
Torres may have had a niggling injury but it would appear most of his troubles were in his head.
He was recommended to visit a psychologist.
Are you suggesting that strikers are not hugely affected by confidence?
Psychology doesn't affect players ability to sprint. Torres is not as quick as he was.

He had an operation on his knee. And that's when I think his problems began. At Liverpool. He came back for the 2010 World Cup but was not the same player.

My view. I don't know this for a fact.

His pace isn't the problem, its his confidence in goal. He still gets into dangerous positions as much as anyone, he just can't finish to save his life.

The lack of pace has undermined his whole game. It's what marked him out as a special player. Remember him leaving Vidic for dead? He missed today's chances because of confidence, but why has his confidence gone? Because the pace that made him stand out has gone.

If Harry goes Spurs will implode.

Anyone seen him on the BBC coverage of the Euros? he doesn't look his usual 'triffic self

He has never had a bigger kick in the bollox than what he got at missing out on England,i pretty sure he thanks Levy for that.
Don't know why - his defence for the tax trial was that he was an illiterate, naive, thick bastard who doesn't have a clue what money he earns or what he does with it and that he is too stupid to operate a mobile phone, computer or a fax machine.

Sound like a shoe-in for the next England manager - actually, thinking about it.......... :-)

The plain fact is England were never going to take a chance that the next England manager was going to get banged up for tax evasion whilst in the position - he'll never manage England whilst he's got a hole in his arse (or a bung in his wallet).

This proves it - someone found 'arry's team sheet for the game against us

"City on Bale alert" I seen on a manchester evening news stand today.

Then I come on here expecing to see we`d signed him.

Even if Twitcher does leave (not confirmed yet and some journos denying it) we're dealing with Levy and the way to get some leverage in negotiations will be to get Bale to hand in a transfer request. Yes it didn't work too well with Modric last season but Spurs have a second season without CL football coming up and they appear to have even less chance of getting it next season than in the one just gone.

Marvin,
Slightly "off topic" for Bale thread, (I would have sent you a pm but you have disabled yours!)
I came across an article today on Torres' mental problems, may be of interest?

Speculation that Moyes will replace Harry if he leaves.
I imagine he and Levy would not easily let us acquire Bale.

Gareth Bale's future at Tottenham Hotspur is hanging in the balance and he will hold talks with the club in the next fortnight.

The £40m rated Welsh winger, who is being tracked by both Barcelona and Manchester City, will return from a family holiday having pondered his next move.
And sources have hinted Bale is ready to head for the exit door if he does not receive the assurances Spurs are still moving in the right direction.
Club chairman Daniel Levy is dealing with the sad recent loss of his mother and a host of players issues will be put on hold until the appropriate time.
Boss Harry Redknapp's future is also uncertain with only a year left on his current contract, and Luka Modric has been lined up by Manchester United for a £25m summer switch to Old Trafford.
But Bale, 22, is the most pressing concern. The north Londoners are desperate to tie him to a new five-year-deal and are willing to double his reported salary of £30,000 a week.
But the likes of City are willing to pay him around £100,000 a week with the added bonus of Champions League football, and Bale wants to know if Spurs are still willing to smash the glass ceiling to compete.

Apparently 'Arry has lest Spurs so i say we strike and put in a bid now.

Apparently 'Arry is denying this and having a hissy fit about the fact that the rumour started at all.
