£20m Man City Lamela bid rejected


There are reports that Roma turned down a £20m Manchester City offer for Erik Lamela.

This is not the first time that City have been linked with the Argentine forward, though Chelsea and Manchester United have also shown an interest.

Italian media suggest Manchester City came forward with a proposal worth €22m, but that Roma shot it down without any consideration.

The Giallorossi are rebuilding and do not want to lose their most consistent young player.

He just turned 21 last month and has scored 14 goals in 28 Serie A games this season.

They HAVE to sell bale to progress, whether or not they make CL - and no they wouldnt have been challenging for the title if the twicher had stayed - they'd have been exactly where they are now. Even IF (A BIG if) Spurs make CL - they have absolutely no chance of winning it now or in the future. City have and Bale knows it.

FfP means they cant buy without selling him. He will come to City because they are the only club who can afford him and there's an agreement in place already. Also, they play to his style (united don't). He could go to Real - but he's a home lovin' boy. He wouldnt go to Chelsea as they are rivals.

Imagine Spurs with Bale, and Champions League football and therefore 2-3 top class additions. They'd be contenders.

To my mind, Spurs have under-performed this season, and only Bale's brilliance has kept them in the hunt. I don't think he's quite recovered from his ankle injury yet.
