Manchester United ‘on cusp of completing Gareth Bale transfer from Real Madrid’

Gareth Bale to Manchester United is almost a done deal, according to the Sunday Express journalist John Richardson.

Speaking on MUTV ahead of Real Madrid’s Champions League clash with Juventus, Richardson claimed that the transfer is all but completed, with Bale’s treatment at the hands of the Madrid fans alleged to be the driving force behind the move.

‘I think it’s almost a done deal to be honest,’ he said.

‘I know somebody very close to Gareth Bale and the public are not hearing the real thing.

‘He’s very unhappy there and he’s unhappy with his treatment.’
Richardson’s claim was backed up by Telegraph journalist Mark Ogden, who agreed that a move is on the cards.

‘If I was a betting man and I had £50 spare to put on where he [Bale] would go, I think he’d end up here this summer,’ he said.

‘I’ve just got this feeling that United want him, they’ve got the money to do it.

‘Bale’s domestic situation is that his girlfriend and his daughter are living back in the UK, and he doesn’t speak the language.’

The former Tottenham man’s arrival at Old Trafford would mark a serious statement of intent from Louis van Gaal, who has already secured his first summer signing in the form of Memphis Depay.

Any deal for Bale would likely cost at least £80million, but that fee is likely to be within United’s reach as they prepare to reap the financial benefits of their record-breaking kit deal with Adidas.

This **** hasn't got a spare £50?

The fucking tramp.

Sorry but he is over rated.... he is a good footballer but sorry not a great one. RM massively over paid for him.

Unfortunately for bale it wasn't his fault he went for that money, but he had to live up to that price tag, but doesn't have that quality that justifies it.

He was a hit at spurs yes, but he also went missing greatly in the big games as well before he moved.

I just don't get the love for Isco on here, he looks pretty average to be honest. Not shit by any means, but nowhere near Bale level, or players like Reus, Robben, James Rodriguez, even Sterling.

Bale would be fantastic for us, we should do whatever it takes to sign him. If he went to rags or Chelsea it'd be disastrous for us unless we spent about £200 million improving the first team. He's low on confidence and off form right now, but he's quality and would show it again in our league.

He's looked shit too often this season but would easily come back to the PL and tear it up.

I wouldn't be surprised if Real had a bit of a clearout - might be an opportunity to get some class "on the cheap"

Bale over Isco. if he's available, we should try to sign him. i'm tired seeing Silva playing of out of position. he should play just behind Aguero in 4-2-3-1 formation. i wish we sign both Sterling and Bale this summer. imagine City with speed demon on both side.

A great player, a world class player, but completely overrated. He is in the same league as Di Maria and not in the league of Neymar, Aguero, Reus, Muller, Modric etc let alone Messi, Ronaldo, Robben.

Hazard is probably a better player, but that being said he is the best City can do and will be a great signing. Unless the club wants to take a gamble and buy a young developing player and hope they get him to fulfill his potential.

Messi, Ronaldo, Robben, James Rodriguez (real deal), Hazard, Reus and Muller are all very, very unlikely to move.

The likes of Draxler, Depay (only ever seen at the world cup and no idea how good he is) and Sterling are just potential and may not live up to that.

Don't want any Madrid cast offs.

How would Bale actually fit in to our system? He wouldn't. He looks like a chimpanzee and he's vastly overrated. Plus his hair I fucking shit.

Isco can get fucked as well. He led us up the garden path and then ditched us at the last second for the Spanish rags.

Pogba and De Bruyne look like our main targets and I'm thrilled with that.
