I have little time for Cook as a football executive and think that we could be in a considerably better position with a cooler headed, cleverer football operator in charge. That said:
Christ, what an over the top OP. I would second Billy's arguments and also add that, given that the prices at City remain more than competitive with the league as a whole - never mind with the top clubs - an increase was inevitable sooner or later.
I do have sympathy with people who are being forced to move, and fully understand why those people are moaning/complaining. But to suggest that this is some kind of heinous act is ridiculous. Fans get tremendous value at City - relative to the premier league in general - and the owner/management have already made plenty of 'gestures' (Hamburg for £5, anyone?). It is supreme ingratitude to think that the fans deserve such gestures on a permanent basis and frankly reeks of a sense of entitlement to me.
Prices were bound to go up sooner or later. Can't see what the big deal is.
