Gas & Electricity

Most people go in to the public sector because it's considered a ‘job for life’ secure, fair enough. Safe in that knowledge that the government will always stump up the cash, come rain or shine - no lay offs, no redundancies - pensions, holidays, the government put taxes up on the private sector to endlessly fund it all - blah blah...you know how it works, well, new news!...the banks are empty and were all in it together now, even you lot - and we're all fucked! apart from the guy on 100k who has the gall to announce on a post about fuel poverty? you could not make it up - like some sick voyeur, lapping up the misery he casually floats above., removed from.
We went into work when there was a pandemic. I was scared shitless, mainly because I had once suffered a pneumothorax Nobody then knew how stuff was going to pan out, but we went in.

Redundancy... I'd snap your f*cking hand off...

You obviously think it's a piss of piss working in the public sector/NHS... If only you knew...

FWIW I used to work for the NatWest before a brain infection put paid to that and I had to rely on the fucking scabs who want fair pay...

Oh for a quarterly bonus of up to £4k again, a chance to win all expenses paid holidays for hitting sales targets (which was basically ripping people off for PPI), endless nights on the piss for free, an actual (paid for) Christmas doo as I wasn't working public holidays... Oh and don't forget the general banter at the public's expense, you know, like "worst customer sob story gets an early finish on a Friday" - I might be able to afford my gas & electric bill if I still did all that dodgy shit....

I'm astonished at how much the prices are increasing in the UK, and watching from outside, it seems like absolute bollocks. I know wholesale prices have increased and everything, but I'm in Malaysia, and I don't see the same sort of insane increases as the UK. I pay between 8.4p and 9.8p per KWH depending on how much I use. The UK is currently at 18.9p and is expected to rise to 52p.

Now Malaysia hasn't imposed sanctions on Russia, but actually they get almost all of their natural gas (the main source of energy) from Australia and Brunei, and in coal supply, Russia is a distant second to Indonesia.

For the record, we have a nationalized energy company, so that might have something to do with it.
Malaysia has a huge oil and gas industry, I am fairly sure they are a net exporter. In fact I think much of the public sector is funded by the money that Petronas brings in, hence it's also a low tax economy. Hopefully will be out there next year at some point enjoying Char Kway Teow and other delights, assuming I can still afford the flights!

kelvin Mackenzie saying there has to be pain

Kelvin Mackenzie is a fucking bellend and how the **** is still given any airtime is beyond me. He’s top of the list of pricks who don’t deserve to have a job. And if he wasn’t in employment, let’s see if the mouthy fuckwit could afford his energy bills then.

Well, there's "pain" and then there is impossible. There is absolutely no way at all that domestic or commercial outlets can sustain such bills. The whole idea is ludicrous.

I am not a socialist but I believe that it's the governments job to not allow any of the citizens of its country to freeze or starve, what this idiot meant when he said we haven't got enough money to help people heat their house is beyond me.

When he mentions "Pain" it's going to be pain he wont feel it will just be the poor people.
