Gas & Electricity

Kelvin Mackenzie is a fucking bellend and how the **** is still given any airtime is beyond me. He’s top of the list of pricks who don’t deserve to have a job. And if he wasn’t in employment, let’s see if the mouthy fuckwit could afford his energy bills then.
Cannot disagree with any of that. The reason he is given airtime is because there are many stupid cuts who will lap it up

I'm sure prisoners will have the heating on 24/7 during the coldest months yet millions of law-abiding tax payers have to scrimp/save and desperately calculate when they can put their cooker on or have the heating on. Fcking disgrace this country - sh*t times ahead.

P.s. I Should've planned ahead and spent 3 months in Thailand but I'm a div....

Most people go in to the public sector because it's considered a ‘job for life’ secure, fair enough. Safe in that knowledge that the government will always stump up the cash, come rain or shine - no lay offs, no redundancies - pensions, holidays, the government put taxes up on the private sector to endlessly fund it all - blah blah...you know how it works, well, new news!...the banks are empty and were all in it together now, even you lot - and we're all fucked! apart from the guy on 100k who has the gall to announce on a post about fuel poverty? you could not make it up - like some sick voyeur, lapping up the misery he casually floats above., removed from.
I’m still trying to work out if you are for it against the public sector? Is this a sarcastic post or do really have no fucking clue?

And what did I “announce” on a post about fuel poverty? It was that I personally want to see an increase in the income tax rate for both the high and additional earners.

That’s why I asked you how much you earn as you are seemingly against any tax rises whatsoever. I don’t understand that position if you are, as you suggested, struggling yourself.

Why wouldn’t you want additional burden put on those that can afford it, particularly with the disparity of wealth we have nowadays being at the levels it’s at and the challenges we’ve got with our front line services even before this additional challenge we’re going to have over winter? (Out of interest, have you considered working in public services yourself if you think the benefits are so great btw, there is a staffing shortage at the minute? ;))

Do you not get the stupidity of saying I’m “casually floating above it” and yet you’re the one arguing I shouldn’t be paying more tax…? (I can assure I’m not casually floating at all, but I do have enough self awareness to realise how insignificant that is compared to others btw)

If your argument was that the current government couldn’t be trusted to spend that additional tax revenue, particularly in directing it to those that really need it, then I could get the point to an extent. Even if you said that increasing the tax revenue will reduce spending from that group even further and have an even greater potential impact on inflation, I’d get it. There’s also the argument that the government have other mechanisms they could use instead that I’d get too.

Instead, you’ve somehow come up with a position is completely nonsensical and just comes across as you having a chip on your shoulder that’s rendered you incapable of logical thought.

I was in the public sector till we were privatised in the early 2000s. The training took 3+ years with weekly exams and the chance of being fired if you failed more than one. It also involved being relocated from Manchester to West London, with the accompanying tripling of the mortgage, and then another relocation to Hampshire. It's not always the bed of roses you suggest.

Go and hold up a bank then. You’ll either end up with plenty of cash to pay your bills or 5 years in a nice warm cell. Win win.

Well, there's "pain" and then there is impossible. There is absolutely no way at all that domestic or commercial outlets can sustain such bills. The whole idea is ludicrous.

What happens when thousands ( At least) all become unemployed because businesses close because even working 24/7 the bills outstrip the earnings? Then all the people who become homeless because they can't afford the rent/mortgage and the bills? It's like they want it to happen,it's bizarre.

Well here down under we have a massive shortage of skilled and unskilled workers, numbers of immigrants is going to be seriously upped very soon the Gov have announced, there are more job vacancies than people on the dole.

So you can all come here :). Yes we do have a public health system called medicare for which we pay 1.5% of our wages.

It's winter here, Darwin today is 31deg... Cairns 28deg...Brisbane is 22deg... Sydney 18deg... Melbourne 16deg... Hobart 14deg so you can see the further south you go the cooler it gets BUT, nobody is freezing their balls off. :)

Plus the state Gov will pay a lot towards your solar panels on your roof, being as there are lots of sunny days you can sell leccy back to the grid !!!
