Gas & Electricity

It won’t be back to ‘normal’ until 2026, looking at the futures markets for Gas. But it will be back to more reasonable levels by the end of the year.

Personally I don’t think we will ever get back to combined gas and electric being around £1200 per annum for the average consumer.
I think that while the future looks to be Electric vehicles there is no way that Electric prices will return to the old prices, the Government will need to recoup the lost tax from petrol and diesel.

£1200 a year for Electric alone is looking to be on the low side in my opinion.

They will definitely need to find a way. Obviously the one that comes up in the UK regularly is charging for road usage per mile.

Martin Lewis has just said he's 99% certain the 20% rise in the energy cap from April now WONT happen, and the government will keep the current subsidy level so the average will be £2500 (as is now). Although we will still see an increase in our bills (as we won't be getting the £60pm from the government)

That will stay until July until there will be a FURTHER anticipated drop in the energy price cap due to wholesale prices coming right down (looked to be around £2000 going off his graph).

I just got the bill for the last 4 months combined gas and electricity.
5 bedroom victorian semi, thermostat at 20c but internal temp usually only gets to 19c. £2700.

Wow. And I thought we were using a lot of energy!
