I think so. The wealthiest individuals and multinational businesses pay very little tax as a % share of their wealth compared to the rest of us. There is certainly an appetitite.It is comparatively wealthy but if it cannot borrow or attract investment to the degree needed, it is going to find satisfying the needs of the people challenging. Is there an appetite for redistribution?
Unfortunately they also often have the most sway and influence. I remember my Dad raging at the TV back in the early 90s when the news said Al-Fayed was negotiating his tax bill with HMRC. Very few can do this.
