Nothing is fabricated by me - those were the bios for Milne & Murray from the 54 core influencers in the FT chart which I posted to help because it is behind a paywall. It is irrefutable that Seamus Milne and Andrew Murray, for decades two leading figures in the GB Communist Party, have been installed at the heart of the Labour Party and control its policies. This is what was in the link included in my original post:

"The most important of these individuals who are now on Corbyn’s inner team are Andrew Murray and Seumas Milne. Both Murray and Milne, together with another old comrade, Steve Howell, whom Milne brought in as Deputy Communications Director in February 2017, were originally members of Straight Left, a pro-Soviet faction within the CPGB, disparagingly referred ever since to as “tankies” because of their support for the Soviet invasions of Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan. Straight Left presented itself as a Labour organisation but in fact it was a front which gave a route for communists to clandestinely influence the Labour Party and turn it to the left. One contemporary critic observed that “honesty and ideological openness are not its greatest assets". https://standpointmag.co.uk/issues/...-udy-jeremy-corbyn-britain-road-to-socialism/

You can repeat the same document from a terrible source that is Standpoint we much as you want but it doesn’t make it true.

I’m not disputing Murray, he was on the executive committee but having looked into Milne over the last 16 hours, I’ve found nothing linking him to the CPGB. Even if he was in Straight Left, whoever they are, and that was linked to the Communist Party, it still doesn’t mean he was a leader in such. First and foremost he was a Guardian Journalist.

Your point was insinuating the entire top line that influences Corbyn were “leaders” in the Communist Party and that’s simply disingenuous and classic right wing tactics to be so.

Ridiculous.

Corbyn has wounded the Labour Party electorally because of the stance he has taken, trying to create a compromise that would encompass both leave and remain voters, has lost him members and poll numbers to the Liberal Democrats. If he was the opportunist you make him out to be, he would have adopted the Lib Dem Brexit stance.
Or he could just be a bit dim and made bad choices.

I don't dispute that his political fence-sitting has hurt him, but the idea that the great man of principle has stood up for what he believes in, irrespective of the damage to his reputation is utterly ludicrous.

He's sat on the fucking fence because he's weasel at best and a more likely a conniving weasel. He's just misjudged it.

I mean honestly, look at his Remain "campaign" in the run up to the referendum. What brilliant leadership, not.

Seumas Milne aka Harry Steel

@The perfect fumble : Seems that Bob is another one of the 82% who don't buy into your Corbyn, man of principle, nonsense.

Corbyn almost defines political expediency over principle.

To be fair being a man of principle is not a disqualification for putting the boot in when your opponent is on the ground. The key qualification for any politician is to be good at politics. If you are hopeless at politics what good are your principles?

It was obvious to anyone with half a brain at the time of the referendum that every single sensible person in politics and the public eye backed Remain, and every single daft person backed Leave.

How could that not be obvious?
The instigators of brexit, a small number of far-right billionaires are not "daft", using their control of the media they very nearly pulled off the crime of the century/might still inflict it. The electorate were subjected to a constant stream of lies over many years, reaching a crescendo leading up to the bum's rush that was the referendum. No turd was left unpolished, racism, nationalism, jingoism, elitism, more racism, anti-semitism tribalism exceptionalism, Dunkirkism ?:) each one seized upon like a magic weapon to slay the EU dragon, then put back in the locker to be re-used, over and over again.
"Daft" people could not manage this, only media barons have the wherewithal to enact this, only they and their billionaire co-conspirators have the motivation to create "Singapore-on-Thames" at the expense of the rest of the country. Managing successfully to blame the EU for tory austerity, for immigration issues, for the destruction of the social fabric of the UK, the state of the privatised industries, even knife crime ffs, is no mean feat. If yer gonna tell a lie, make it a big un, and they dont come any bigger than brexit. The poison seems to have no anti-dote, that there is even a debate that the referendum was unfit for purpose, rushed, hi-jacked by racists, fatally flawed in many crucial ways, practically, legally and morally, is off-the-scale nonsense.
Rip it up, start again, ring-fence the GFA and impeach johnson and his hand-picked collection of collaborators, embrace the EU and work towards federal harmony.
