I read this really interesting piece on Pochettino the other day - http://twentyminutereads.com/2015/12/27/the-sheriff/

One thing that jumped out was the passage that he believes young players are invaluable to his ideas because they're easier to mould into his plans. They're more impressionable etc, and they're naturally more energetic and eager to impress. Couldn't agree more.

You see that with Nacho. Never stops moving when he gets on the pitch. Yaya is the other end of the spectrum, does what he thinks he can!

They'll work even harder than they do in the EDS team. Combine that with their talent anyway, and all our kids are talented in some ways, and you do get someone who could be very effective if used properly. The truly great managers recognise this, and hopefully Pep will too if he comes on board.

A good read cheers.

I may be completely wrong but I don't get the impression anything like any of that is happening around City's first team. I bet it does, next season.

Has he been offered a new contract yet?
If not someone is not doing there job properly.

Met him at the unveiling of city circle great lad and he could easily do what Fernando does for us but prob for less money and 50 times more passion! Give him a contract.....

would be an absolute joke if we lost him. what exactly are we doing with our youth players at the moment ? no f them get played, even nacho is struggling and others like roberts aren't playing at all. we may produce a load of world class players in the next ten years, but right now we are not doing a good job with the talented youth we have. i have no faith in pelle at all with youth

he could do a good job in our midfield now, I'm sure if he cost a load of money or wasn't english he might get a chance

I’d like him to go on with us and turn out a worldy as much as the next man but you have to be realistic. If he looks like a really good prospect for a Championship club and we are offered a couple of £m then that might be great business all round i.e. good for the player as much as it is good for the club. We have let a few high profile youngsters go over recent years: Pozo, Lopes, Hughes, Cole, Rekik, even as far back as Weiss. At this point the club made the right call on every one of those players and the money in is not insignificant.

We have some great midfield players currently with the EDS so it will be what it will be. Good luck to him wherever he ends up playing.

It's not worth the risk. If a youngster is showing good promise, it makes no sense selling him for a couple of mil. We are a big club and that couple of £M is hardly going to benefit it. The risk is that one of these guys turns around a becomes a top class player and for a couple mil, it really isn't worth shifting our promising players. We need to keep them and if we don't, atleast insert of buy-back clause to cover our backs. We don't want a Pogba situation to occur and lose an amazing youth player because that would be detrimental for every aspect of this club.

Been getting a lot of support on Twitter since the rumours broke. Seems a lot of fans share the viewpoint that he has to be given a fair chance after doing everything that is asked of him so far.

He has done everything we ask of him - he performed really well preseason and now on his loan at Walsall. It also looks like he has put on weight and muscle in the last 6 months and is becoming a physical beast. I will despair if we let him go now. Get him signed up for another contract and then let Pep decide if he has what it takes to be a first team squad member. He has been with us since 8 years old and deserves every chance!
