He's been at city since he was 5. When was the last time that has happened, if it ever has.

Nobody has ever done it, Glendon got close when he was on the bench against Bayern.

Evans was on the bench vs Dortmund the season before I think.

Evans could really make the breakthrough, he did well last time he was involved in preseason and is a bit more developed/experienced than the other EDS lads. Plus his passing range is probably the best available in that position atm with Yaya away, Zuculini loaned and Nasri injured.

In all honesty I'd be surprised to see him make it here for the reasons Nev articulated earlier in the thread. He'll be a professional though and a good one at that.Another one who is worth 5 games a season in the first team, never know and he might move himself to a new level

After displaying great promise,George definitely stagnated,as such.....I believed he would drift into the mid table comfort of the Championship.
However, credit has to be given to both him and the coaching staff for seemingly reigniting his development, playing, and gaining experience,as a centre half seems to have been a master stroke.

He has the potential to be an excellent midfielder, perhaps in the mould of Barry, his awareness, vision and ability to make space are all highly desirable attributes. His physique appears to have developed too.

Whether he can push on,and become a first team player with us,remains very much a long shot but last nights showing was an unexpected treat and bonus for me,really pleased for a local lad who has his head in the right place and who obviously wants to be a footballer.

Let's face it the lad doesn't wow you like barker or lopes but he must have something for Mancini and manuel to keep him involved in the first team training and I think it was Ajax when he was on the bench not Dortmund.

Likewise, Barry never "wowed" either but we wouldn't have won the cup and the first PL title without him for sure.
Pellegrini has stated this week that Evans trains all the time with the first team so he will be very aware of what he's capable of.

He's not afraid to pick the ball up off the centre half and then try a slightly risky pass, which is something that we really lack without Yaya. Obviously he's nowhere near Yaya's level but it's a shame he's not got some experience behind him as he rightly won't be trusted in the big league games we have coming up but he might stop us looking as impotent as we did against Arsenal.

I often inwardly lament that we dispensed with Gazbaz and ended up playing Garcia & Fernando.

The pass Evans hit for Jovetic's goal, was hit with a purpose & trajectory that we rarely see from any of our midfield players. We just don't 'do' that ball on the whole. I doubt Silva, Nasri, Yaya etc would even consider it most of the time, they would already have passd it elsewhere. Fernandinho attempts it occasionally. But Evans did it better.

It would be more difficult for a striker to nail it in a real game, but in Aguero & Bony, we have two for whom it's food and drink.

Aside from the obvious defensive mid attributes he is being taught, he actually showed us something there, which is different to what we have available.

I would be all over that if I was a City coach/manager.
