This was such an exciting time to be a blue, following the awful first few weeks of that season. One of my favourite seasons that's for sure. To think we were relegated just over two seasons later.
Yes it was a good time to be a blue mate,
2 great cup runs culminating in the FA cup final replay that we came so close to winning until Villa's wonder goal. As someone said earlier there must have been 58,000 in the old place for the quarter final replay against Everton I'd never seen the Kippax as full either before or after that night.

52,600 - Mr Swales wouldn't fib about an attendance

Great pictures but I don't recall the steps at the back of the Kippax being like that? I'm assuming this was the away section. Picture 5.

pic 5 is away end mate
what a pass from paul power - city legend

Someone said earlier in the thread that united had Platt lane but when we scored, everyone went up. Is that City fans getting hold of their tickets or did they only have the kippax corner?

They just had the corner but as usual there were pockets of them around the ground. They had the Platt Lane in 89 but I'm not sure when the first time was.
