Harry Kane

Been thinking about the Kane v Haaland conundrum. I feel that we might be keen on both. Kane has been excellent dropping deep and still scoring/creating goals as he did last season for Son. So play Kane up top this season and next season he can play either in a front two (those were the days!) or as a deeper-lying forward/creator for the main man Erling Haaland!

I was very confident we'd sign Grealish because it looked like there was a release clause but I am not confident about Kane. Levy tends to leave Spurs transfer business until deadline day for some unfathomable reason. If City get Kane, I think it will happen very late in the window with Spurs lining up some last-minute alternative.

If we don't get Kane this season, Haaland becomes very credible with his release clause. It puzzles me that Dortmund are prepared to take such a huge loss on him.

Not as simple as that.

His wages would be outrageous , agent fees the same.

I am not a big Kane fan but we are in serious need of a top quality striker and at this present time he is the only option from what I can see in terms of goals and quickly fitting into the team.

I would much prefer Haaland but it's clear that is not an option and even Chelsea's unwillingness to get involved says a lot.

160m for Kane is madness and no way will we pay anywhere near that, I would think 120m tops.
You are not a big Kane fan but you have him in the category of a top-quality striker?

To me, Chelsea 'pulling out' would suggest the opposite. If by the one thing you mean money.

He could get that from Chelsea, they would pay it. If he isnt going for that, I would read that as he knows where and when he wants his next move (and likely not City btw, in case you think that's what i was suggesting).

That's ignoring Dortmund in it all.

That's another reading tbf but I'd just say it's inconsistent for me given his previous statements. He's said he wants to break records, become a legend, and that his next club has to "want" him. If he was really primarily motivated by sporting achievement then why ...

The tour of Europe circus by Raiola and Alfie
Does he appear happy to wait at Dortmund until next summer?

Wealth is the answer to all these questions.

Now tbf I don't want to sound like a puritan: of course people have mixed motivations and he can want money and success. And there's nothing *wrong* with wanting the money.

I'm just saying it's revealing. On the other hand we have Kane burning his bridges at Spurs to try to force the move.

outstanding goal scorer but he is not a player that I particularly enjoy watching.

Machine like, a English version of Lewandowsky.

We have been spoilt with Kun, you should never compare and you have to move on but Kun was a hell of a player, that had the ability to excite.

Kane is a very different player but hopefully just as good for us, if not better.

I've avoided sullying my eyes for awhile but it's good to see Redcafe is still full of deluded idiots with short memories. Apparently, us dominating the league is a bad thing for everybody else, and it was the 'oil clubs' who were responsible for the ESL.

Edit: love the fact that they still believe FFP doesn't apply to us.

It might be Haaland, his dad and his agent that won't take the loss.

Levy leaves it to the last minute so he doesn't have to spend as much of the money

Example
He bags £130m for Kane
And signs a player for £30m or even on loan late in the window and the spiel is they didn't have time to purchase top quality player

Which everyone knows is bollocks but he saves £100m
